Porsche Cayenne Lineup Updated In Malaysia With More Kit

This increase in kit count is however reflected in the modest increase in price for both CKD Cayenne variants.

While the all-new all-electric Porsche Cayenne is still some way from making its Malaysian debut, what the Stuttgart stallion has done in the meantime is update its locally-assembled line-up. Both the standard Cayenne and its electrified sibling, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé, have been given a light titivation, bringing with it a bit more kit for, inevitably, a bit more money.

Starting from the outside, the most visually distinctive update comes in the form of newly standard 21-inch RS Spyder alloy wheels. These larger rollers are then complemented by body-coloured wheel arch extensions, replacing the contrasting black trim from before and giving the Cayenne a more street-spec aesthetic.

Adding a touch more individuality to the line-up also is the introduction of a new Arctic Grey exterior finish, a colour first seen on more focused Porsche models and now making its way onto the Cayenne. It joins the existing palette of Carrara White Metallic, Chromite Black Metallic and Quarzite Grey Metallic, with leather in either Black or Bordeaux Red available inside.

Speaking of the interior, the highlight of this update is the extension of Porsche Connect services to 10 years, a significant jump from the previous two-year coverage. This allows for expanded remote functionality via the Porsche app, including vehicle monitoring, navigation and climate control access, adding a layer of convenience that aligns neatly with modern ownership expectations.

Standard equipment has also been enhanced specifically for the Malaysian market, with items such as soft-close doors adding a bit of luxury, while the Sport Chrono Package injects a touch more sportiness into the proceedings. Adaptive Cruise Control is now included as well, though it is worth noting that simpler items like blind spot monitoring still remain conspicuously absent from the kit list.

Elsewhere, the cabin continues to feature a driver-focused layout under the Porsche Driver Experience concept, highlighted by a fully digital 12.6-inch instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch Porsche Communication Management (PCM) touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain part of the package, alongside a Bose surround sound system.

Under the bonnet, the mechanical package remains unchanged, with the standard Cayenne powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 producing 353 PS and 500 Nm of torque. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, it delivers a century sprint in the six-second range and a top speed of 248 km/h, with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) continuing as standard.

For those seeking more performance and efficiency meanwhile, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé ups the ante by pairing the V6 engine with a 130 kW electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 519 PS and 750 Nm. This translates to a significantly quicker 0-100 km/h time of 4.7 seconds, while also offering an electric driving range of up to around 90 km thanks to its 25.9 kWh battery pack.

Finally, there is of course the matter of pricing, and as expected, the added kit does come at a premium. The Cayenne now commands RM 609,000, reflecting an increase of just over RM9,000, while the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé rises by RM 11,000 to RM 739,000. Not insignificant sums, but perhaps not entirely unexpected given the upgrades on offer.
