Denza Z9 GT Arrives In Malaysia Costing Just RM 358,800

RM 358,800 is a staggering price for this sleek Denza that goes from 0-100 km/h in under 3 seconds.

If one had around RM350,000 to spend on an executive car, the traditional choices would likely have been a Mercedes-Benz E-Class or a BMW 5 Series. But what if there was now something sleeker, more luxurious and significantly faster available for the same money?

Well, unfortunately for Mercedes-Benz and BMW Malaysia, that nightmare has now become a reality. Such is as Denza has recently officially launched the Z9 GT in Malaysia, and it arrives with an almost unbelievably cheap price tag of just RM358,800!

Now of course, “cheap” is subjective. But once one reads through the specifications, it quickly becomes apparent that this could seriously shake up the local executive car segment.

Starting with the powertrain, the Z9 GT arrives in Malaysia solely as a fully electric fastback. This latest 2026 model retains its single front and twin rear motor layout, but each motor has been uprated to deliver a staggering combined output of 1,156 PS and 1,210 Nm.

With performance figures rivalling a Bugatti Veyron, the Z9 GT tackles the century sprint in just 2.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 269 km/h. And if one is not shooting down the road at those speeds all the time, Denza claims its new 122.49 kWh second-generation BYD Blade LFP battery — incidentally making its debut on this very car — is good for a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 600 km on a single charge.

Though not like charging will be a chore in this Denza either, such as its new battery being able to support the company’s latest 1,500 kW Flash Charging technology. Thanks to its 1,000 V electrical architecture, the Z9 GT can be topped up petrol fuel-up style from 10 to 70% in only five minutes, and from 10 to 97% in just nine minutes.

A little proviso on those headline charging speeds however, is that they require the use of the company’s bespoke Flash Charging stations. BYD has nevertheless confirmed that these chargers are heading to Malaysia, though initial deployment will be limited to selected BYD and Denza showrooms and service centres.

Beyond the headline performance figures, under the skin the Z9 GT also rides on the DiSus-A intelligent air suspension system, with the Malaysian suspension tune said to mirror that of the European-market model. It also gets rear-wheel steering that works at angles of up to 20º, though who really needs a 4.62-metre turning radius when its twin rear motors can scrub the rear wheels to have this Z9 GT perform a crab walk or even a slow-motion in-situ donut?

Moving now onto the skin of the Z9 GT itself, its sleek Taycan Sport Turismo-esque silhouette is accented by dual-bar LED headlights up front. The hourglass rump in turn is further reinforced by hourglass-shaped graphics within the full-width taillights, as well as the now seemingly obligatory-for-a-Chinese-car twin vertical brake lights integrated into the roof spoiler.

Another deployable spoiler sits on the boot lid, while the profile is bookended by 20-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels that hide orange brake calipers behind them. The eagle-eyed may also have spotted the roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, making this one of only a handful of cars currently on sale in Malaysia to feature the technology.

Finally turning attention to the cabin, the fine-grade leather upholstery and light-smoked wood trim are naturally accompanied by heated, ventilated and massage functions for all seats. The front units further gain active side bolsters that plump up during hard cornering for additional support, while rear passengers can luxuriate with extendable leg rests.

Tech highlights within the Z9 GT include twin 13.2-inch displays serving as the digital instrument cluster and front passenger screen, alongside a 17.3-inch 2.5K central infotainment touchscreen. And if that still is not enough screen real estate, there is also a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display, a 9.1-inch digital rear-view mirror, while rear passengers even get their own six-inch control touchscreen mounted behind the centre console.

Other creature comforts include a panoramic glass roof, four-zone automatic climate control, three 50-watt Qi wireless chargers (two up front and one at the rear), a 20-speaker, 1,150-watt Devialet sound system with Dolby Atmos surround sound, as well as the obligatory built-in centre-console fridge.

Exterior colour options for the Z9 GT comprise Obsidian Black and Rime Gold, while three interior combinations are available. The Rime Gold exterior can be paired with either a Full Black or Dark Chocolate/Perg Beige interior, while Obsidian Black can be specified with Full Black, Dark Chocolate/Red Velvet or Dark Chocolate/Perg Beige upholstery.

The Z9 GT comes with a six-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, six years of complimentary scheduled maintenance worth RM 10,000, an eight-year or 160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty, and an eight-year or 160,000 km drive unit warranty. It also includes three years of complimentary Flash Charging, while buyers will receive a complimentary pair of ‘Denza in collaboration with Devialet’ earbuds worth RM 2,000.
