The Perodua QV-E Is Now On Its Way To Sabah & Sarawak

This premiere fully-electric Perodua will command a RM 3,000 premium in Borneo over its Peninsula counterpart.
While the QV-E may not have exactly been a runaway success in Peninsular Malaysia, Perodua is nevertheless hoping its first-ever EV can find a few more buyers in Sabah and Sarawak. Such is as six months after its initial launch (and following a healthy price reduction), the fully-electric crossover is finally making its way to East Malaysia.

Now according to Perodua, the QV-E will officially go on sale in Sabah and Sarawak from 15 July 2026, with prospective customers able to test drive the EV and place their bookings at selected dealerships, the list of which will be announced in due course.
Getting the QV-E across the South China Sea however seems to comes at a cost, with buyers in East Malaysia paying a RM 3,000 premium over their Peninsular counterparts. As such, outright purchase pricing starts from RM 96,999, or RM 90,499 after the current promotional rebate. Those opting for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, meanwhile, will pay RM 72,999, reduced to RM 66,499 with the rebate applied, while the monthly battery leasing fee remains unchanged at RM 215, matching that charged in Peninsular Malaysia.

Aside from the revised pricing, the East Malaysian QV-E is mechanically identical to the model already on sale in the Peninsula. Driving the front wheels is a single electric motor producing 204 PS and 285 Nm of torque, enabling the crossover to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of 165 km/h.
Power comes from a 52.5-kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which delivers up to 370 km of WLTP-rated driving range. DC fast charging is supported at up to 60 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in around 30 minutes, while AC charging tops out at 6.6 kW, requiring approximately eight hours for a full recharge.

The QV-E’s sleek sportback-inspired silhouette belies a compact crossover measuring 4,170 mm long, 1,800 mm wideand 1,502 mm tall. Boot capacity stands at 320 litres, which is just 10 litres shy of the Proton X50, though rather surprisingly 49 litres smaller than its Ativa sibling.
Finally moving inside, the QV-E introduces several firsts for Perodua, including a powered driver’s seat and ambient lighting. Also fitted as standard are a 10.25-inch central infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless smartphone charger, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Just returning to the topic of BaaS, customers opting for the battery leasing programme receive unlimited mileage coverage with a guaranteed minimum 70% battery State of Health (SoH) throughout the leasing period. Those purchasing the QV-E outright instead receive an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, likewise guaranteeing a minimum 70% battery SoH.
