Perodua Discounts QV-E By RM 10,000 For Malaysia Day

This slow-selling Perodua EV could now be yours from RM53,499 with the battery-leasing package.

In celebration of Malaysia Day (and totally not because it is slower selling than ice in Antarctica), Perodua has announced that it is offering a RM 10,000 cash rebate for its QV-E. This brings the price of the EV down to RM 53,499 under its battery-as-a-service (BaaS) subscription package, or RM 77,499 if buying it outright.

Incidentally, this rather substantial 10+% discount comes just three months after a similar price adjustment for the car was made in June. And rather amusingly, comes just as the Proton e.MAS 5 outsold every other EV model in the country combined this past August.

As a recap of the prior price drop, the automaker cut the price of its first-ever EV from the original RM 80,000 when it was launched in December 2025 to RM 69,999 if purchased with the BaaS package. The BaaS fee in turn was lowered to RM 215 per month, inclusive of tax, for nine years.

For outright purchase, the June revision set the price at RM 93,999, with the same RM 6,500 rebate bringing it down to RM 87,499, including both the car and battery.

As the Malaysia Day RM 10,000 offer is a rebate rather than a price revision, the June terms should remain unchanged. The BaaS plan includes unlimited mileage and guarantees a minimum 70% battery state of health (SoH) throughout the leasing period, while outright purchases get an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty with the same 70% minimum SoH guarantee.

And finally, for those who may be unfamiliar with this rather rare Perodua on Malaysian roads altogether, the QV-E is a compact electric crossover powered by a front-mounted motor producing 204 PS (150 kW) and 285 Nm of torque. This is enough to get it from zero to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 165 km/h.

Juice for the motor comes from a 52.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery from CATL, giving the QV-E a claimed WLTP range of 370 km on a single charge. Its maximum DC charging rate is 60 kW, taking the state of charge from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes, while home AC charging at 6.6 kW takes eight hours for a full 0-100% charge.
