Prices in Malaysia for this refreshed Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S starts from RM 527,888.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has recently announced the local arrival of the facelifted CLA 45S, which brings with it a minor frontal refresh and a some associated mild tweaks in its cabin.
Starting on the outside of this hot Merc first, the facelifted CLA 45S nets a new AMG-specific front grille with vertical slats and a reshaped front apron, that are in turn flanked by a pair of revised MULTIBEAM LED headlights. A set of new LED rear lights also make an appearance on this refreshed sleek small sedan-coupe, as does a redesigned set of 19-inch alloys and a couple of new blue hues (hyper blue and spectral blue).
The CLA 45S can now be had too in what Mercedes dubs as the AMG Street Style Edition. The special variant brings with it a Manufaktur mountain grey Magno paintwork and custom black and fluorescent orange side decals, in addition to a set of 19-inch matte-black cross-spoke forged wheels, red brake callipers, an AMG-specific front grille and exterior emblems finished in black chrome.
Moving on inside meanwhile, the AMG Street Style Edition also brings with it the same vibrantly orange accents from the outside to various interior touch points. Specific ambient lighting and orange topstitched floor mats with ‘Street Style Edition’ lettering are present too, as well as a pair of AMG Performance front seats, illuminated door sills and even an AMG fuel cap.
Changes made within the cabin of the CLA 45S on the other hand include the integration of the latest generation of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system to the twin 10.25 displays that make up the digital instrument cluster and central infotiainment screen. This brings with it the ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice assistant and immersive Dolby Atmos audio to the standard Burmester surround sound system.
Other associated little tweaks to the cabin include an additional USB-C port, with all ports are now also coming illuminated for ease of use in the dark. A new AMG Performance steering wheel with double-spoke design is also now standard on the CLA 45S, as is a new Driving Assistance Package that brings with it Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and Active Brake Assist.
As for what lies under the hood on the other hand, the CLA 45S still retains its 2.0 litre turbo four-pot that outputs 421 PS and 500 Nm of torque. Said mighty power plant is then paired with an eight-speed AMG Speedshift DCT 8G dual-clutch transmission and AMG Performance 4Matic+ fully variable all-wheel drive system with AMG Torque Control, which hence enables century sprint time of 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h.
In order to make the driving experience even more impressive too, the CLA 45S now comes equipped with AMG Real Performance Sound. A feature which at the press of a button, can adjust the exhaust note between a subtle, sporty tune and an emotional, motorsport-esque roar.
