This e:HEV Civic RS joins the expanding line-up of Honda e:HEV models which include City, City Hatchback and the All-New HR-V.
Honda Malaysia currently enjoys 81 percent of C-segment and they intend to increase this percentage to at least 90 percent with this latest Civic variant.
Just this morning the management of Honda Malaysia officially launched the e:HEV Civic RS, an additional variant in the Civic line-up, powered by a new 2.0L e:HEV Civic powertrain which is a first for Civic and Honda Malaysia.
Complementing the successful 11th Generation Civic, the Civic e:HEV RS also joins the expanding line-up of Honda e:HEV models which include City, City Hatchback and the All-New HR-V.
Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura said,
“Early this year, we welcomed the 11th Generation Civic to the Malaysian market.
The model received great responses from Malaysians with close to 7,000 units sold to date and achieved No.1 Position in its segment with 81 percent market share as of September 2022. And for that, a big thank you to our customers and in particular, Civic fans for their continued trust in the Honda brand.
“Today, we are pleased to introduce a new variant, the Civic e:HEV RS which promises a superior driving experience for Civic customers. Honda’s Hybrid technology is not new to Honda Malaysia. We became the pioneer in introducing Malaysians to Hybrid technology in 2007 when we launched the first Civic Hybrid.
Since then, we have advanced in the hybrid technology. The introduction of e:HEV powertrain is well accepted in the Malaysian market. From January to October 2022, the City e:HEV RS has contributed 5 percent followed by the City Hatchback e:HEV RS at 8 percent and the recently launched All-New HR-V e:HEV RS also received positive response from our customers with 11 percent contribution to its respective models.” added Mr. Yoshimura.
Stepping up in its Hybrid technology, Honda Malaysia is introducing the 2.0L e:HEV powertrain for the first time. The e:HEV powertrain combines two electric motors that provides an exciting and powerful performance for a daily driving Hybrid car. It is coupled with an Electric Continuously Variable Transmission (e-CVT) and an Intelligent Power Unit (IPU).
Needless to say, the new 2.0L e:HEV powertrain’s performance is impressive, promising drivers an exhilarating ride through the maximum power output of 184PS and a benchmark setting 315Nm of torque that is unmatched in its segment and comparable with D-segment models.
The Civic e:HEV RS will continue to familiarize the sporty RS styling with the addition of Chrome Ring Insert Headlight and Front Grille, Black Half Chrome Door Handle, as well as the unique Blue H Mark and e:HEV emblem which are all exclusive to the Civic e:HEV RS variant. This variant will also be sporting an 18-inch Dual Tone Alloy Wheels and a Single Tailpipe Finisher, giving it a sporty appearance to match its performance.
Within the interiors, Honda Malaysia is introducing a 10.2-inch Full TFT Meter for the first time. Alongside this are newly introduced features such as the Wireless Charger and the Key Card which are both unique to Civic e:HEV RS.
The Key Card is a compact, convenient and exclusive design approach to keyless remote. Used for keyless entry and start function, the Key Card is truly one step ahead in Honda’s advanced technological offerings.
The Civic e:HEV RS is also furnished with a 9-inch Advanced Display Audio with Wireless Apple CarPlay™. Another feature that is unique to the e:HEV RS variant is the Power Flow Display which supports eco-friendly driving by showing the flow of energy in the car. The display changes in real time according to the driving status and is accessible through the display audio for a better visual of the energy flow.
Focusing on the ride comfort of driver and passengers, improvements have been made to the Civic e:HEV RS’s Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) where the Active Noise Control (ANC) works together with Active Sound Control (ASC) to reduce outside noise while enhancing the engine sound to deliver an exciting driving experience.
As with all Honda models, the Civic e:HEV RS comes equipped with the full suite of enhanced Honda SENSING safety features that include:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
- Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN)
- Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Low Speed Follow (LSF)
- Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)

- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Auto High Beam (AHB)
Other features included in the Civic e:HEV RS are Honda LaneWatch, Walk Away Auto Lock, Remote Engine Start, Rear Seat Belt Reminder and Driver Attention Monitor.
Additionally, Honda CONNECT is offered in the Civic e:HEV RS. Honda CONNECT is an innovative technology that applies smart Telematics Technology to provide multiple benefits of Safety, Security and Convenience.
Key functions of the Telematics Technology in Honda CONNECT include Vehicle Diagnostics, Remote Applications, Security Applications, Vehicle Tracking and Support Services, which are all targeted to provide peace of mind and ease accessibility to the vehicle’s information.
The Civic e:HEV RS will be offered in Ignite Red, Meteoroid Gray, Platinum White Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl. The on-the-road price for the Civic e:HEV RS is RM166,500.00*.
