Volvo Cars Malaysia have revealed the price for the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric. This is following its launch which was a few weeks ago. Now, customers can start making orders for the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric at a ‘hassle-free’ price of RM262,459.75.
This new release of the XC40 Recharge Pure Recharge is a huge milestone for Volvo and also part of their process towards electrification in Malaysia. Not to mention, this new Volvo is also locally assembled at the Volvo Malaysia plant, making the company the first luxury car brand in the country to locally assemble EV’s. Volvo will also be looking to export their electric vehicles to other ASEAN countries through this plant.
For this pure electric variant, Volvo Cars Malaysia are now introducing a ‘hassle-free’ price which includes a charging cable with the car, a service package (years/km), 5 years of vehicle warranty, 8 years of HV battery warranty and 5 years of roadside assistance.
Powering the car is a twin motor engine that can output 408hp and 660Nm of torque. Its 75kWh lithium-ion battery gives it a range of 418km in a single charge. With 150kW DC charging, the car is expected to get a full charge in around 45 minutes. It can go from 0-100km/h in just under 5 seconds, which is not too bad.
Inside, the equipment is fairly similar to the previously launched petrol variant in Malaysia. It includes the 9-inch infotainment display integrated with Google, a digital driver instrument cluster, Volvo On Call and SOS services.
Being a Volvo, the car is also abundant with safety features. They include City Safety suite (collision avoidance & mitigation with intersection support; pedestrian, cyclist and large animal detection), front and rear collision warning and mitigation support, Driver Alert Control, Lane Keeping Aid, Run-Off Road Mitigation with Road Edge Detection, Oncoming Lane Mitigation, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Steer Assist and Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) with autobrake.
