Additionally, this GWM Tank 300 also comes with a standard 6-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty.

Now according to its maker, the Tank 300 has solidified its reputation as a champion off-road SUV in China for 42 consecutive months, achieving global sales of over 300,000 units in just three years. With its arrival in Malaysia, GWM aims for this off-road SUV ‘to surpass previous sales records and establish new accomplishments’.

The Tank 300 lands locally powered by 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, which outputs 220 PS and 380 Nm of torque. Drive is meanwhile delivered via a ZF-soucred eight-speed automatic transmission and a dual-speed electronically-controlled part-time four-wheel drive system (with selectable 2H, 4H and 4L modes), with its off-roading chops further complemented by electronically-controlled differential locks on both its front and rear axles.

And while on the topic of off-roading here too, GWM currently quotes for the Tank 300 to have a minimum ground clearance of 224 mm and maximum wading depth of 700 mm, with an approach and departure angle of 33º and 34º respectively. Other notable the tech-related 4×4 highlights of this body-on-frame off-roader includes for it to feature all-terrain control system with 9 driving modes, a crawl control mode, a tank turn function, as well as a 360º surround view camera with a transparent chassis function.

As for the on-road toys on the other hand, the GWM TANK 300 comes equipped with Level 2 Driving Assistance with smart driving assistants including Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Highway Assist (HWA). Its surprisingly plush black Nappa leather-lined cabin in turn is highlighted by a twin 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and central infotainment display combo with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, 64-colour ambient mood lighting, a 9-speaker INFINITY sound system, in addition to climate controlled and massaging front seats.

Additional practical features within include rear air vents, a wireless charging pad, USB power outlets, a fold-down centre armrest with cupholders, and double-layer soundproof acoustic glass all round. As for the rear passenger seats, it comes with two level of adjustment and can fold completely flat in a 60:40 split arrangement to accommodate large bulky items.

Discussing design now, the boxy Wrangler-esque exterior aesthetic of the Tank 300 is accentuated by a set of 18-inch two-tone chrome alloy wheels underneath its chunky black plastic wheel arches. There are currently 4 colour options for this off-roader in Malaysia: Dusk Orange, Fossil Grey, Crystal Black and Pearl White.

Mike Cui An Qi, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia, stated: “To us at GWM, providing an off-road SUV that impresses not only with its looks but also with its comfort and luxury, without compromising safety or performance, is essential. We strive to ensure every journey is enjoyed to the fullest, with complete peace of mind.”
