Chery to Showcase V2G Charging and Smart Energy Technology at 2026 User Summit

Chery will showcase its smart energy technologies at the 2026 Chery International User Summit in Wuhu, China, from October 19 to 23. The event is expected to welcome more than 2,000 guests and users from around the world.
The company will demonstrate an energy centre that integrates solar power, energy storage and vehicle charging. The system uses AI-powered energy management to support more efficient electricity use and lower-emission mobility.
China’s First Scaled AC V2G Demonstration Station
The energy centre is described as China’s first AC Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) demonstration station deployed at scale. Its solar, storage and charging systems form a local microgrid that supports megawatt-level ultra-fast charging.
The station also powers a rest area using renewable energy, allowing visitors to charge their vehicles during a coffee break.
V2G technology allows electric vehicles to both receive and supply electricity. Vehicles can charge during off-peak periods when electricity tariffs are lower, then return power to the grid during peak demand.
Where supported, compatible vehicles can also supply electricity to homes and communities during outages. This two-way energy flow can help manage electricity costs, balance grid demand and improve the use of renewable energy.
More Charging and Energy Storage Technologies
Chery will also showcase its Volt-dragon Charger technology, which aims to shorten charging times. Its charging station supports island mode, allowing charging operations to continue during grid disruptions.
The company is also researching Superconducting Charging for more direct, on-demand power delivery.
For residential use, Chery’s Energy Cube system combines solar generation, battery storage and bidirectional charging. It aims to increase the use of self-generated electricity and reduce household energy costs.
Chery also offers its Rhino batteries, which are designed for long service life, and is researching solid-state battery technology. Laboratory samples have demonstrated high stress tolerance, although the company did not provide further performance figures in the announcement.
Smart Energy System for Heavy-Duty Trucks
Chery has also implemented an integrated energy system at an electric heavy-duty truck park in Spain. The setup combines solar power, energy storage and high-power charging through a local microgrid.
The project could provide a model for other freight operations seeking to integrate renewable energy into their charging infrastructure. It also demonstrates how energy systems can be adapted to meet industrial requirements.
Through these technologies, Chery aims to connect energy generation, storage, distribution and consumption. The company sees electric vehicles as potential participants in smart grids, rather than simply consumers of electricity.
