The current 2019 Proton Exora is a ten year old product that has just been revived again with the help of Geely for the Malaysian middle and lower middle class consumer to get a family vehicle for less than RM67,000. The 2019 Exora is priced at RM59,800 (Exora 1.6T Executive) and RM66,800 (Exora 1.6T Premium) and it is the last bacth run out model for Proton before Geely brings in its very own MPV, which is pictured below.
Geely’s new MPV which will arrive in a year as the Proton Exora replacement is also China’s first ever hybrid MPV on the market, allowing urban families to enjoy the benefits of new energy vehicles.
Geely’s Jia Ji was just named as the most eco-friendly MPV in China with the highest score at the 2019 C-ECAP (China Eco-Car Assessment Program) announcement yesterday.
C-ECAP awards is based on in-vehicle air quality, in-vehicle noise, hazardous substance, fuel consumption and emission.
To meet the needs of different consumer markets, the new MPV is offered with several powertrain options including 1.5TD PHEV, 1.5TD MHEV and 1.8TD traditional fuel engine with automatic transmission.
The top performance version of the MPV is the new energy PHEV version, which comes equipped with Geely’s Auto’s 1.5TD engine specially developed for hybrid models. The 1.5TD engine is paired with a highly efficient 7DCTH transmission developed in Geely Auto’s China Euro Vehicle Technology Centre (CEVT). Combined with a hybrid electric system, the PHEV version offers a maximum power of 190kW and maximum torque of 385 Nm. Combined city and highway fuel consumption is a low 1.6L per 100km with a fast charging time of just 90 minutes and pure electric range of 56km. As the first plug-in MPV in China, the PHEV is set to become the preferred choice for urban families.
