BMW X7 xDrive40i now with more enhanced digitalisation capabilities and some design tweaks.
The New BMW X7 was first shown in Malaysia in October 2022 and now this latest version features a significantly refined appearance, courtesy of a new front design with split headlights, reflecting BMW’s new luxury class design language.
Notably, the interior with the BMW Curved Display and Operating System 8 which has been revised to provide superior connectivity, as well as a wide range of digital services and assistance systems.
The six-seater configuration with individual captain seats in the second row maximises passenger comfort, while driving experience is elevated with the new 48-Volt mild hybrid petrol engine.
Distinctive design for maximum impact.
Arriving with the Pure Excellence package which rivals the latest Volvo XC90 T8, the refined frontal appearance of the New BMW X7 distinguishes the luxury SAV from its predecessors as it presents split twin LED headlights with separate units serving distinct functions — daytime running lights and indicators at the top.
The front apron also has a new design, with powerfully sculpted surfaces housing a new double-slat kidney grille design and two eye-catching chrome elements as frames for its central air intake. This modern front design marks the New BMW X7 as an unmistakeable member of the BMW luxury class, setting it apart from its predecessor and underscoring its position as the flagship BMW X model.
From the side, short overhangs, a long wheelbase, and elongated lines define the silhouette of the New BMW X7, complemented by roof rails, exterior line in satinated aluminium and sleek light alloy wheels that flank the luxury SAV.
At the rear, the three-dimensional taillights of the New BMW X7 come with a completely redesigned internal graphics layout that includes a new position for the reversing lights.
Another new feature is the glass-covered chrome strip connecting the two taillights, which further emphasises the width of the luxury SAV. In addition, the high ground clearance provides a commanding vantage point to the New BMW X7.
Innovative, sophisticated, and spacious interior.
The BMW Curved Display, featuring a 12.3-inch Information Display and 14.9-inch high-resolution touchscreen Control Display as standard, gives the interior of the New BMW X7 an exclusive, more digital cockpit ambience.
The instrument panel appears significantly lower with discreetly integrated air vents, while the outer air vents are framed by sophisticated chrome elements. Further enhancing the premium ambience of the luxury SAV is the ‘Lindenwood Fineline’ fine wood trim, sport leather steering wheel and M Headliner ‘Alcantara’ anthracite.
The Ambient Light Strip below the interior trim finisher makes for another visual highlight in the New BMW X7. It is backlit and creates a special appearance of spatial depth with its crystalline looks and prismatic structure.
As standard, the Ambient Light also includes the Welcome Light Carpet for the entrance areas on the left and right. The Crafted Clarity trim with handmade elements made from cut crystal glass perfectly complements the Ambient Light Strip, which displays an “X7” designation on the passenger side.
The New BMW X7 now also offers a spacious six-seater configuration with two comfortable individual seats in the second row.
Seats also feature the new Sensafin upholstery with decorative stitching as standard, complementing the BMW Group’s ambitions for sustainability.
Additionally, the large panoramic glass roof provides a brighter and airier interior ambience. As for luggage capacity, the New BMW X7 provides up to 750 litres of boot space with its third-row seat folded down.

The New BMW X7 is offered with a petrol engine paired with xDrive all-wheel drive and an 8-Speed Steptronic Sport transmission.
The luxury SAV also features a new mild-hybrid technology with a 48-Volt starter generator for even better efficiency and dynamics.
The in-line six mild hybrid engine is capable of a 250 km/h top speed, delivering 375hp (280kW) and 540 Nm of torque. This allows the luxury SAV to achieve the century sprint quicker, in just 5.8s compared to its predecessor’s 6.1s.
Comprehensive and convenient connectivity.
The New BMW X7 includes the BMW Live Cockpit Plus with a freely customisable Information Display and touchscreen Control Display.
Integral to the cockpit interface, the New X7 xDrive40i is now equipped with the latest BMW Operating System 8 that forms the foundation for comprehensive connectivity.
Vehicle systems can be controlled in multiple ways such as using the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel, the BMW iDrive Controller as well as touchscreen and gesture control.
The BMW Live Cockpit Professional also includes the BMW Head-Up Display as a standard feature, which projects important information relevant to the driver.
A comprehensive range of modern driver assistance systems – the Parking Assistant Professional and Driving Assistant – are also available as standard for the New BMW X7 xDrive40i.
The Parking Assistant Professional is a camera- and ultrasound-based assistance system that can be used to start an automated parking manoeuvre. Also included is the Reversing Assistant Professional, which records up to the last 200 metres covered.
The Driving Assistant, on the other hand, comprise of features such as Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning with active steering interventions, Front Collision Warning with brake intervention, Rear Crossing Traffic Warning, Rear Collision Prevention with exit warning, Speed Limit Info and manual Speed Limit Assist.
The exterior colour offerings for the New BMW X7 xDrive40i are Sparkling Copper Grey Metallic, Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic, Skyscraper Grey Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, and Black Sapphire Metallic, while the new Sensafin upholstery is available in Sensafin Black and Sensafin Cognac.
