BMW 330Li M Sport Lands Locally Costing RM 277k

The increase in wheelbase also tacks on an extra RM 6k to the price of the standard BMW 330i.

Now to those who think that their 3-Series is just a little bit too tight in the rear, there is good news as BMW Malaysia has just announced that the stretched 330Li M Sport is now on sale over here. Coming ahead of it being previewed earlier this year, this new addition to the locally-assembled 3-er lineup is now available for purchase at a price of RM 277,164.22 (inclusive of sales tax exemption).

Costing about RM 6k more than the conventional 330i, what this extra outlay essentially nets is a 110 mm increase in the overall length of the 3-er. All of which has been added between the wheels, for a 42 mm increase in rear passenger legroom and 10 extra litres of boot space.

There has also been a slight increase in overall height of this stretched 3-Series too, by all of 6 cm over its shorter sibling. This has nevertheless yielded an extra 4 cm of headroom within the cabin of the 330 Li.

In continuing on the topic of things that are larger with this longer 3-Series, the 330Li’s century sprint time is naturally slightly larger than its 330i counterpart too. Featuring the same 2.0 litre turbocharged four-pot and eight speed automatic transmission pairing that sends 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque to the rear wheels, the longer car takes 0.4 seconds more to get to 100 km/h from a standstill than its shorter equivalent (6.2 s vs 5.8s).

This slightly slower acceleration time however does help somewhat in BMW’s effort to position this 330Li as a comfortable cruiser, in contrast to its shorter and sportier 330i sibling. Such is evidenced by the fact that despite its M Sport designation and various M sport accoutrements, this longer 3-er apparently comes with regular Servotronic steering and comfort suspension instead.

Moving on inside too, there are now electrically adjustable comfort front seats and a panoramic glass sunroof fitted to the 330Li. Though the mention of its different 18-inch M light alloy wheels (taken from the 4-Series) and new trapezoidal style exhaust tips just about sum up all the major equipment distinctions between this stretched 3-er and its shorter sibling, with further information regarding its full specs available in the press release down below.

The 330Li M Sport is on sale at all authorised BMW dealerships nationwide starting today. Owing to the ongoing Movement Control Order, prospective buyers for this stretched 3-er are encouraged to view and book their cars through the BMW Shop Online platform instead.
