Kia distributors, Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhn, announced the release of the all new Kia Carnival in Malaysia.
The Kia Carnival, being the brand’s flagship minivan, has been designed to be a family-oriented vehicle. This all-new model boasts an upgraded appearance with futuristic details and SUV-inspired design elements.
The all-new fourth generation Carnival comes equipped with a 2.2L Turbo Diesel Engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This 2.2L engine produces 199 horsepower at 3,800 RPM and 440 Nm of torque from just 1,750 – 2,750 RPM. It provides smooth, linear acceleration and a premium performance driving feel.
Its exterior features a shorter front overhang, with the base of the A-pillar moved backwards to create a longer hood. Its increased wheelbase also contributes to greater space throughout the cabin, giving the car a longer silhouette to provide a spacious interior for the 11-seater.
What’s more, it features a unique roof design with blacked out A and B pillars supporting the body-coloured roof, with an all-new C pillar design inspired by the new Kia Sorento. From the front, the Carnival is equipped with standard dual LED daytime running lights which matches its front grille.
Additionally, the rear of Carnival has the same LED daytime running lights that are integrated into a full-width light with a sculpted line that extends downwards and wraps around the license plate, giving the car a more robust appearance.
Inside, the Carnival comes with four rows of seating to accommodate the available 11-seats. The car also features Smart Power Sliding doors and Smart Power Liftgate, Smart Key that come with button functionality.
The interior furthermore consists of a 12.3-inch High-resolution LCD touchscreen Infotainment system which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Seven USB ports which come with wireless charging and Bluetooth connectivity can be found within the vehicle to host its multiple passengers.
When it comes to safety, The Kia Carnival is equipped with a range of safety features, It has the standard safety features such as 7 SRS Airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Multi-Collision Brake Control (MCB), ISOFIX Child Restraint Anchor Points and Top Tethers as well as Hill-start Assist Control (HAC).
For added safety measures, the Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) can detect vehicles travelling in adjacent lanes under conditions that have a risk of collision. When reversing with limited view, the Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA) will alert the driver when incoming traffic is detected. These multiple sophisticated safety features make the Carnival a safe and family-friendly MPV.
The Kia Carnival is priced at RM196,340.80. It arrives fully imported from Korea with 5 years warranty and free maintenance with mileage limit of up to 100,000km. It is available in 6 different colours which are Astra Blue, Silky Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, Snow White Pearl, Panthera Metal and Flare Red.
