This all new HR-V e:HEV is now selling faster than it is being produced.
Since its official launch in July this year, this electrified all-new HR-V e:HEV crossover has seen better than expected showroom excitement as many Malaysians start understanding better the technology behind Honda’s answer to lower fuel costs.
The previous generation HR-V was launched in Malaysia some seven years ago in 2015, creating a new segment for Malaysians looking for a high riding vehicle (HRV) that had the handling of a compact hatch.
With more than 111,000 units delivered to Malaysian buyers, this Honda crossover remains a class leader with the Proton X50 and Toyota Corolla Cross nipping closely at its sales numbers.
Meanwhile, this latest 2022 model HR-V has three engine variants for Malaysian buyers and it is this e: HEV that seems to getting the highest attention. Why?
Well, more Malaysians want to save fuel as the possibility of fuel prices going up in 2023 looks very real and this e:HEV powered HR-V will save fuel and still deliver a premium drive feel.

The e:HEV technology features Honda’s unique hybrid system that function seamlessly, combining the benefits of petrol engine and electric motors to provide maximum power and fuel efficiency.
The advanced powertrain in this HR-V RS delivers 131PS and 253Nm of torque for a thrilling driving experience and the powertrain also offers 3 drive modes – ECON, Normal and Sport, which can be switched according to driver’s needs.
The All-New HR-V RS comes with advanced features such as Honda LaneWatch, which is a camera-based advanced safety technology that reduces blind spots by providing real‑time visual in the infotainment system when the left turn signal is activated or the LaneWatch button is pressed.
This variant also features Hands-Free Power Tailgate with Walk Away Close function, where the tailgate will start closing automatically upon detecting that the individual with the remote key is moving away from the car. Other advanced features in this variant is Remote Engine Start and Walk Away Auto Lock functions which provide convenience for the All-New HR-V RS owners.
