Suzuki Debuts An Arctic Variant Of Its Jimny In Tropical Malaysia

This new limited edition Jimny Arctic goes white on the outside and adds leather on the inside.

While winter in Malaysia is something that would only happen when hell freezes over, Suzuki nevertheless thought it will cool (pun totally intended) to launch a Arctic variant of its Jimny over here. This localised limited edition of this Japanese 4×4 was unveiled at this year’s Jimny Lifestyle Drive, which is currently in its third iteration since its local inception in 2022.

Now starting with what is new on the outside first, this limited-edition Jimny sets itself apart from the rest by coming exclusively in a newly-introduced Pearl White finish. This fittingly-Arctic hue extends to its typically black exterior bits, which includes the front grille, bumpers, rocker panels and wheel arches.

This limited edition Jimny further features a set of sleek door visors and 3-panel glass tint package, to presumably help keep the cabin remain (ever-so-slightly) cooler under the blazing Malaysian sun. The exterior enhancements is then to be rounded off with a custom ‘Arctic-themed’ soft tyre cover, as well as a set of black mud flaps.

Moving on inside meanwhile, a set of plush deluxe carpet mats and two-tone caramel-black Nappa leather seats on this Arctic variant adds a large helping of luxury to the typically utilitarian cabin of a standard Jimny. Also different too on this limited edition is a white accented bumper trim around its central infotainment system, to presumably match its snow-coloured exterior.

As for what lies under its white hood, the Jimny Arctic still retain the same K15B naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre VVT naturally-aspirated four-pot and four-speed automatic transmission pairing as its standard counterpart. Peak power and torque from this little engine is to be rated at a modest 100 hp and 130 Nm respectively, with all this to then be sent through to all four wheels via a part-time four-wheel drive system with a low-range transfer box.

The Suzuki Jimny Arctic is currently available locally (in only 3-door form) with a price tag of RM 167,900, which is to be a RM 9,000 markup over the RM 158,900 the standard car is currently going for. For those who are willing to jump at this opportunity as soon as they read this story when it first comes out however, there is actually to be a limited time ‘early bird’ promotion with a rebate of up to RM 7,000 for this very limited edition 4×4.

For those who want the white exterior hue but still want all the bits in black too, the aforementioned Pearl White finish has since been made available as a colour option on the standard Jimny. Also added alongside it to the colour palette is a light cream colour, for which the automaker dubs as Chiffon.
