Range Rover Evoque Facelift Set For Local Launch In Jan 2024

This update to the second-generation Range Rover Evoque adds new headlights and more cabin tech.

Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia (JLRM) intends to kick 2024 off with a bang, as it has recently announced that the facelifted second-generation Range Rover Evoque will soon be landing locally next month. This mild update previously announced internationally in June brings with it a slightly refreshed exterior aesthetic, in addition to a few new tech toys within its cabin.

Starting first with the exterior enhancements first, the refreshed Evoque brings with it a new front grille that is flanked by a redesigned pair of LED headlights. According to Land Rover, these new clusters feature triple the number of LEDs as before with four pixel modules of individually-controlled LEDs.

New too on this Evoque are its rear lights, which Land Rover claims to integrate a ‘new super-red rear illumination that not only enhance visibility but diminish glare for fellow road users’. A palette of new exterior hues and finishes are also apparently to be available for Malaysian buyers of this baby Range Rover, along with the new rim designs measuring up to 21-inches likely to be on offer locally.

A new selection of interior finishes is apparently on the cards as well, but the big change within this Evoque is to be its new 11.4-inch floating curved infotainment touchscreen that replaces the prior old-style setup with separate climate controls. Running the automaker’s latest Pivi Pro operating system, this system comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration plus Amazon Alexa 10 voice command support. Other smaller updates to the cabin of this refreshed baby Range Rover meanwhile comes in the form of a redesigned gear lever and the availability of its Cabin Air Purification Plus system.

Powertrain choices for the refreshed Evoque internationally encompasses a range of mild-hybrid petrol and diesel 3- and 4-cylinders, but the Malaysian market should likely retain the same 200 PS P200 and 249 PS P250 2.0-litre four-pot petrol options as offered with the pre-facelift iteration. Likewise, both engines would still be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that works with an All-Wheel Drive with Driveline Disconnect technology.

Prices for this refreshed Evoque in Malaysia have yet to be revealed, but it is almost certain for it to cost slightly more than the RM 468,800 starting price commanded by the outgoing iteration. This newly updated baby Range Rover will be showcased at the JLRM roadshow at Bangsar Shopping Centre running from January 3rd to 7th 2024 for interested parties to get a closer first local look.
