Mitsubishi Triton Pickup Truck To Help Fight Cancer

Mitsubishi Malaysia has just donated a pickup truck to help out in rural areas in Malaysia.

Mitsubishi Motors has always been very generous in reaching out to organisations that need mobility solutions and this time they have donated one of their Triton pick-up trucks to the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), a non-profit organisation (NGO) that supports cancer patients which was established in 1996.

NCSM will be using this Triton pickup truck to travel to rural areas in Malaysia, especially low income urban villages in the country as they are usually the communities that have little to, if any, access to screening facilities and just medical resources and facilities in general.

CEO of MMM, Shinya Ikeda, said, “Mitsubishi Motors supports NCSM’s noble efforts in carrying out their mission to raise public awareness on cancer prevention, screening, and early detection.”

He also said, “In line with our CSR vision ‘Inspiring Lives Today for a Greater Future’, we know that success isn’t solely measured by the vehicles we put on the road, but also by the lives we enrich along the way.

As part of a responsible Malaysian society, we are pleased to fulfil our CSR by utilising the innovative strength of our 4×4 pickup truck for the greater improvement of society.”

He added, “Over the years, the award-winning Triton pickup truck has passed many endurance tests and has been put through the harshest road conditions. We hope that the Triton will gain NCSM access to many places and assist as many people as possible.” He added.

NCSM is wholly funded by the voluntary contributions from the public, I can personally vouch for this as I have run into some friendly volunteers with NCSM around my local ‘Chap Fan’ shop and they have explained their mission and even sat down and chatted with me about why they try to educate Malaysia for no pay.

NCSM also provides support to cancer patients and caregivers through various channels such as its Cancer and Health Screening Clinic, Nuclear Medicine Centre, Resource and Wellness Centre, the Adults’ Home of Hope, and Children’s Home of Hope.

NCSM aims to increase awareness and reduce incidences of cancer in Malaysia through its philosophy to “Educate, Care and Support,” and Mitsubishi is very noble in assisting them with this by allowing them a vehicle that can finally bring the help many need but don’t have access to. Kudos to both NCSM and MMM for this.
