Updated Mazda CX-3 Debuts In Malaysia With More Kit

This mildly updated Mazda compact crossover now features more safety and connectivity tech.

Mazda has recently updated its CX-3 over here in Malaysia. Although the exterior overall design and powertrain remains identical to when it first arrived three years ago, this fully-imported compact crossover nevertheless now features more connectivity and active safety tech than ever before.

Starting off with the safety enhancements first, this updated CX-3 crossover now comes as standard with the Mazda’s i-Activsense safety suite. Thereby adding useful driver aids like High Beam Control (HBC), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Driver Attention Alert (DAA), and Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) for the Front & Rear to the originally available Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

Moving onto the connectivity improvements, Mazda has finally made Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration standard into its 7-inch central infotainment touchscreen. Elsewhere in the interior meanwhile, a new leatherette-fabric seat upholstery has been added too as part of this mild update for the CX-3.

As for the exterior, while the sharp sillouette remains virtually unchanged, some new exterior features like a power sunroof, a 360° surround view camera system as well as front parking sensors have found its way onto this updated CX-3. Additionally, there is also a new Polymetal Gray exterior hue that now joins the four existing colour lineup that consists of Soul Red Crystal, Snowflake White Pearl, Deep Crystal Blue and Machine Grey.

Open for bookings now at all Mazda dealerships nationwide, this mildly updated CX-3 is only available in a sole 2.0L High variant and is set to retail from RM 130,729.00 (inclusive of SST exemption). All models will come as standard with a 5-year/100,000 km manufacturer warranty, not to mention an equally long free maintenance package which is ‘inclusive of labour, parts and lubricants’.

Interestingly enough, these updated CX-3s will only land locally sometime in July. Nevertheless, Bermaz Motor has pledged that customers who make their bookings for this enhanced compact crossover from now till the 31st of June 2021 will still be entitled to the SST exempted price as stated above. Something for customers to really consider doing quickly, as this currently reduced price tag represents a not-insignificant cost saving seeing as this compact crossover does come fully imported from Japan.
