Lotus Emira, now available with a RM1,131,800 price tag
Lotus Cars Malaysia have just unveiled the Lotus Emira along with its full specifications and price. For a tax inclusive price of RM1,131,800, the Lotus Emira can now be yours. This launch is quite the leap for Lotus as this is the automakers most expensive car ever released. Furthermore, Lotus also said last year that the Emira will be their last petrol-powered vehicle.
The Emira has been teased by Lotus for quite some time. Lotus seems to really believe in it, as they halted production of the Elise, Exige and Evora just for it. Matt Windle, Managing Director of Lotus Cars says that the Emira is “the most accomplished Lotus we’ve ever made”.
Building on the legacy of the Elise, Exige and Evora, the Emira represents a quantum leap forward for Lotus. Those instantly recognizable brand signatures and core values have been combined with a paradigm shift in levels of practicality, comfort, functionality and technology.
Powering the vehicle is a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine that has been mounted behind the seats. Paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, a visible gearchange mechanism and hydraulic power-assisted steering, it can easily reach its maximum output of 400hp.
The Emira’s exterior comprises of LED lights all round, 20-inch lightweight V-spoke alloy wheels with silver of gloss black options, a titanium exhaust finisher, heated power-fold door mirrors and rear parking sensors. It utilizes a newly developed lightweight bonded aluminium chassis for optimum performance.
As for interior, customers can choose between seven colour choices. They include red, black, grey and tan Nappa leather, as well as black Alcantara with either red, yellow or grey stitching. The dashboard is mainly focused on the 10.25-inch central touchscreen and 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster which have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A KEF Premium audio system similar to the one found in the Eletre is also present in the Emira.
12-way adjustability seats, climate control, cruise control, keyless start and selectable drive modes are also worth mentioning.
That’s not all. For those who want even more out of the Lotus Emira can choose between multiple optional packages to further enhance the vehicle. The Black Pack, which colours the roof, cantrails, mirror backs, rear Lotus badge and exhaust finisher, has been included as standard. The three optional packs include:
- The Drivers Pack – gives customer the choice of Tour or Sport suspension with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tyres, or Sport suspension with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.
- The Design Pack – adds privacy glass, sports pedals, a black Alcantara headliner, and the choice of black, red, yellow or silver painted brake callipers. Lotus-branded footwell mats are also included.
- The Convenience Pack – adds front parking sensors, rear reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers with aero blades, auto-dimming mirrors and a rear luggage storage net.
