Hyundai Palisade Facelift Arrives Priced From RM368,888
The Palisade, Hyundai’s luxury SUV has been refreshed with an upgraded premium look and a more luxurious and comfortable interior.
In December 2021, Hyundai Sime Darby teased the arrival of their flagship SUV, the Palisade. This was just 9 months after the company had decided to enter the premium SUV segment which is dominated by Volvo, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
Hyundai had to price their luxury SUV to rival the popular Volvo XC90 which costs RM373,888 as the other rivals like the BMW X5 were all 5 seater luxury SUV’s.
So where are the changes? Well, the exterior of the Palisade now comes with a wider cascading grille and rugged parametric shield element for a more premium appearance.
There is also a new forward lighting signature featuring vertically connected LED composite lights. Meanwhile, the rear view emphasises a wide, stable stance via vertical LED tail-lamps and lower fascia skid plate details. The refreshed new look is complemented with 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels and strake detailing on the lower front skid plate that enhances its rugged look.
Aerodynamic benefits such as a fast A-pillar angle, rear spoiler side garnish, an optimised front cooling area with an extended internal air guide, aero underside panels, and rear wheel aero deflectors are integrated into the design of the car.
Meanwhile, the interior also gets some changes. The One-Touch second-row seat allows for easy operation to move the seat forward for easy access in and out of the third-row seats. The Palisade offers a total cargo space of 1,297 litres when the second and third row seats are folded and 509 litres when all seats are upright.
The infotainment system can now be accessed on a 12.3-inch LCD screen that is upgraded with a sophisticated new graphic user interface. New slim horizontal air vents also add a sense of spaciousness and premium ambience.
Wireless charging capability has been upgraded from 5 watts to 15 watts for faster device charging. USB-C ports for faster charging are also made available for the driver and front passenger, as well as for the second and third row passengers.
