While GoCar is perhaps most well-known for its car-sharing platform locally, the company has also been hard at work branching out in offering other automotive-related services in recent time. And the latest of these expansions has been into the auto maintenance sector, with the recent launch of its new GoCar Garage digital one-stop car service and maintenance solution.
Aimed in addressing an ‘unmet need in the market for a seamless and transparent aftersales offering’, this newly launched service has been touted to be a tech-based solution ‘with trusted OEM-level ambience and service excellence’. Primarily targeting the digitally savvy and upwardly mobile Malaysians, this feature will apparently enable its users to conveniently select the required maintenance services, confirm and pay for said service appointments and even arrange for pick-up and drop-off for their cars all through the GoCar mobile app.
In speaking further about the app, GoCar Garage also pledges to provide a transparent pricing structure by enabling customers the ability to review and pre-approve any maintenance work via the application before the job is undertaken. This is to ensure that there are no additional surprise costs incurred during the service, which is not an entirely unheard off occurrence when utilising the services of other third-party workshops.
Other benefits from choosing GoCar Garage includes a free two-hour usage of a GoCar for two hours while one’s car is being serviced, not to mention a free 31-point vehicle inspection, car wash and sanitation too. There is also a six-month warranty for replacement parts, as well as the option of a door-to-door delivery service via GoValet (within a 50 km radius of a GoCar Hub) for a small fee, which is incidentally waived for August in line with the launch of this new service.
On the topic of the GoCar Hub meanwhile, GoCar Garage’s sole service centre is currently located along Jalan Kemajuan in Petaling Jaya. Staffed by skilled technicians that are proficient at maintaining any brand and model of passenger vehicles, the (rather comprehensive) range of services on offer are as follows:
- Pit stop service – 45-minute oil change (excluding car wash and sanitisation). Customers have a choice of three types of engine oils – fully synthetic, semi-synthetic and mineral. Only premium Elf-branded engine oils are used. This service is inclusive of the oil filter and drain washer. Starting price from only RM98
- Battery inspection & replacement
- Tyre services including free alignment and balancing for the purchase of two tyres or more

Now as for the steps required to book a GoCar Garage appointment on the other hand, it should go without saying that the interested customer will need to have downloaded and registered with the GoCar app. Though an appointment booking also requires the user to submit some identification information about themselves and their vehicle, as well as selecting the required services from the full menu.
Once that is done, the app will then provide a cost breakdown for the service(s) requested as well as the proposed service appointment schedule. Only after the customer has given their approval however, will GoCar Garage only proceed with the prescribed service tasks.
After the service is complete, the app will display a notification and customers can make the payment through the app itself or via the other usual forms of online transaction methods. Customers can then decide to collect their vehicle from the GoCar Hub, or arrange for drop-off at their preferred location using the GoValet service.

First, to book an appointment, they will be asked to submit some identification information about themselves and their vehicle and select the required services from the full menu.
They will then be notified via the app on the cost breakdown for the services selected and the proposed appointment schedule. Only after they have given their confirmation and approval will GoCar Garage proceed with the job.
Once servicing is completed, they will receive a notification that the job is done and they can proceed to make payment via the app. A downloadable official invoice will also be provided.
