Geely introduce the all-new Emgrand in the Philippines

Geely has just officially launched the 2022 all-new Emgrand in the Philippines. This is the fourth model the company has released in the Philippines since its relaunching there in 2019. However, the Emgrand is the first sedan by the company in the Philippines and it’s aimed at the country’s largest market segment.

This all-new Emgrand will be utilizing the company’s B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA) that is also used other Geely models such as the Bin Yue, which is sold as the Proton X50 in Malaysia, Bin Rue and the ICON. The Emgrand measures in at 4,638 mm long, 1,820 wide and 1,460 mm tall. These dimensions seem to be more similar to that of a C-segment sedan instead of a B-segment one.

Since its launch in 2009, the Emgrand has seen more and more advanced specifications with each generation. The Emgrand has also maintained its reputation as one of the best-selling sedans in China for the past 9 years.

This all-new fourth generation Emgrand will run on a 1.5-liter Dual Continuous Variable Valve Timing (DVVT) engine that delivers 102PS and 142Nm of torque. The engine is fully made out of aluminum alloy giving it a longer lifespan while also making it easier to maintain and lightweight. The engine is mated with an 8-speed Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT).

When it comes to its design, the Emgrand looks very clean and sleek. The sedan features Geely’s latest “Energy Pulse” radiator grille which is flanked by projector LED headlights and LED daytime running lights. The rear lamp features 190 LED bulbs.

In the cabin, the overall design remains clean and modern looking, with a clear dashboard aside from the 10.25-inch free-standing central display and a 12.3-inch driver instrument display. The seats are made of memory foam with light luxurious suede and a synthetic leather covering which is environmentally friendly. Cooling leather material is also wrapped around the steering wheel to keep it cool under the sun.

Safety wise, the fourth-generation sedan will be equipped with 3 ultra-sonic reversing radars and high definition wide rear angle camera, Real-time Temperature and Pressure Tire Monitoring System and a Rear Intelligent Monitoring System that reminds drivers to check the rear seats before leaving the vehicle.

Aside from that, the standard safety features include ABS, Electronic Stability Program, traction control, Hill Hold Control, electric parking brake with auto hold and six airbags.

The all-new Emgrand is offered in six colors: Proud Teal, Dark Blue, Gold, Gray, Red, and White. It is priced from RM65,193 to RM74,140.
