Ford Ranger In Europe Gets Updated

The multi-award winning Ford Ranger pickup truck is getting an update in Europe. Ford in Europe says the new 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine in the Ford Ranger features “selective catalytic reduction” for optimised emissions, delivering up to a nine percent fuel-efficiency improvement when mated to the new 10-speed automatic transmission.

As we already knew, the Ranger engine line-up will be led by the bi-turbo version borrowed from the Raptor, delivering 157 kW and 500 Nm. In addition, however, a single variable-geometry turbocharged version churning out 125 kW and 420 Nm will be offered in Europe, along with a base engine of the same configuration, offering 96 kW and 340 Nm of torque.

Ford says the compact single turbocharger has been specifically designed to deliver more air at lower engine revolutions compared with the 2.2-litre TDCi unit (which, along with the 3.2-litre five-cylinder, falls away in that market).

Meanwhile, in Malaysia, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) the brand guardian for Ford recently announced the ‘Ford Ranger Weekend Sales Carnival’ for Peninsular Malaysia which runs this August until October 2019.

Customers who place a booking for any Ford Ranger variant during the carnival period will be in the running to win an athletic bicycle to complement their active or adventurous Ranger lifestyle.

Meanwhile, customers who purchase either the Ranger WildTrak or Ranger Raptor in the month of August until 30 September 2019, will enjoy free maintenance for two years and a PETRONAS Gift Card worth RM1,000. Customers who purchase the Ranger WildTrak during this promotional period will also receive a rebate of RM3,000.

Visitors to the carnival will have an opportunity to win great prizes together with exclusive Ford merchandise while exploring and experiencing the Ranger Raptor and Ranger WildTrak through educational games and activities.
