Chery Malaysia has gone big with the early-bird benefits of its new all-electric Omoda E5 SUV.
While its stunningly lucrative price tag of RM 146,800 should already be attractive enough to entice any prospective e-SUV buyer in Malaysia to give this new Chery Omoda E5 a second look, the Chinese automaker has nevertheless decided to throw in up to RM 11,000 worth of launch day perks to make this already good deal just that little bit sweeter.
For the first 2000 bookings, Chery has touted for its new Omoda E5 will enjoy an exclusive package worth up to RM11,000 that encompasses a free Wallbox Charger (worth RM3500), free Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charger (worth RM 500) and free Charging Credits (worth RM 1000) redeemable at all 474 EVC charging facilities across Malaysia.
As for the remaining RM 6,000 benefit meanwhile, this figure comes from Chery Malaysia partnering with Maybank to offer an impressively low 2.08% interest rate for customers financing their Omoda E5 purchase. The Chinese automaker claims that this exceptional early-bird offer is ‘designed to make owning your dream car even more attainable, ensuring you enjoy both luxury and savings’.
Though even without this aforementioned early-bird offer, the new Omoda E5 does still make for quite the stellar deal when considering its rather comprehensive warranty package. Chery is currently offering its an 7-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, in addition to an impressive 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty and a class-leading 8-year or 160,000 km drive unit warranty which covers the Power Motor, Power Motor Control Unit, Power Battery Management System and the Vehicle’s Control Unit.
Most impressively of all the aftersales perks though is for Chery to be offering a first-in-Malaysia One-to-One Battery Exchange with its Omoda E5 if the battery’s state of health falls below 70% during the warranty period, which in turn basically solidifies the used values of these all-electric SUVs come resale time. Oh, and owners of these EVs will also get to enjoy complimentary vehicle charging when they visit any Chery outlets nationwide too!
The Omoda E5 comes in a choice of 4 exterior hues: Aqua Green, Khaki White, Phantom Grey and Dark Black and two interior combinations: Blue-Beige or Pure Black interior. Propelling this e-SUV meanwhile is a front-mounted drive motor that delivers a reasonable 201 hp and 340 Nm of torque.
Powered by a 61 kWh lithium iron phosphate blade battery, the Omoda E5 is quoted to be capable of a 430 km WLTP-claimed range on a single charge. With an AC charging rate of 9.9 kW and a DC charging rate of 80 kW on the other hand, topping this e-SUV up with the latter method from 30% to 80% will apparently take just 28 minutes.
