BYD Opens Its First Klang Valley Mall Showroom At IOI City Mall

This new BYD showroom at IOI City Mall Putrajaya also features its first outdoor concept delivery bay.

Despite being already rather popular with Malaysian motorists already, it would seem that BYD is still hard at work trying to boost its physical retail presence nationwide. The latest of which incidentally is to be its first mall-concept showroom in Klang Valley, that opened recently at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya.

Operated by local dealership Millennium Autobeyond, this latest showroom at IOI City Mall has been touted by the Chinese EV manufacturer to introduce ‘a novel way for Putrajaya and Klang Valley customers to engage with its cars’. Operating as a 1S center, this new 1,299 square feet ground floor location aims to offer mall-goers a unique and convenient retail experience with BYD.

What more too is that if mall-goers do just happen to purchase their BYD at this particular showroom, they may also get to drive away with their EV from IOI City Mall too. That is as this new location also features the brand’s first outdoor concept delivery bay for its customers. The newly opened mall-concept showroom will be available for shoppers to visit daily from 10.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Mr. Eagle Zhao, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. said, “We look forward to introducing Malaysians in the Klang Valley to BYD through our new mall-concept showroom. We hope that this will introduce more shoppers to BYD EVs and our industry-leading technology.”

Mr. Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors Southeast Asia continued, “As we launch this new BYD showroom within IOI City Mall Putrajaya, we are excited about its significance for the shoppers here, as well as those living and working around Putrajaya. We invite everyone to explore this showroom, which we believe offers a unique and immersive retail experience..”

Mr Bryan Wong, Managing Director of Millennium Motors Group further added, “We are honored to open the first BYD mall-concept showroom for the Klang Valley. We believe that the people and shoppers in IOI City Mall will be excited to have easy access and a unique shopping experience with BYD EVs.”

Coinciding with the recent opening of its first Perak outlet in Ipoh, this new outlet at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya marks the 14th retail location for the Chinese automaker in Malaysia. BYD also supposedly has plans for 6 more showrooms to be opened soon, in Butterworth, Kayu Ara, Kuantan, Melaka, Batu Pahat, and Kota Kinabalu.

Apart from this newly opened showroom in IOI City Mall Putrajaya, Millennium Autobeyond also manages the BYD dealership in Cheras, with apparent future plans for outlets in Kayu Ara Damansara and Seremban too. The wider Millennium Motors group on the other hand also has dealerships for BMW and Mitsubishi in Malaysia.

Currently, BYD has two fully-electric models on offer in Malaysia: the Atto 3 compact crossover and the Dolphin hatchback. The former currently retails from RM 149,800, while the latter’s price begins from RM 99,900.
