Aside from its existing locations in Kedah and Penang, BYD has since further expanded into the states with a new showroom in Ipoh. Its first in Perak, this new 2S centre will be operated under the management of the Goh Brothers Group.

This new Ipoh showroom boasts 4,000 square feet and two-storeys of retail space to offer locals the chance to easily experience BYD’s latest range of EVs. The Chinese automaker further touts for its customers to be able to expect exceptional quality service at the showroom with six dedicated customer parking lots, two commercial chargers and a customer lounge to enjoy while waiting for your car to be serviced. And speaking of said servicing meanwhile, the service centre’s four service bays will supposedly offer ‘efficient after-sales support’ to existing owners of these all-electric cars.

The showroom is currently located at 1, Jalan Niaga Simee 1, Pusat Perniagaan Simee and its operating hours are between 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, and between 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Sundays and Public Holidays. The launch of BYD Ipoh provides local residents with improved access to our EVs and enhances the convenience of after-sales services. We anticipate more Malaysians to have the opportunity to experience EVs and BYD’s industry-leading technologies.”

Mr. Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors Southeast Asia says, “Our expanding presence in Malaysia aims to make it easier for everyone to experience BYD’s EV technology. We have carefully selected strong partners and are confident that our customers will enjoy the best buying experience and receive the highest quality of after-sales service.”

Mr. Ernie Goh, Dealer Principal of Goh Brothers Cars announces, “We’re thrilled to introduce the BYD brand to Ipoh’s town centre. BYD owners can now purchase and service their cars here, offering both locals and visitors an unmatched experience with BYD EVs in the heart of Ipoh.”

Goh Brothers Group is a joint venture founded by two brothers, and originally started as a family business. Its automotive distribution division has since however evolved into a full-fledged multi-brand car dealership expanding across Malaysia, with its Volkswagen dealership being its most notable operation in Ipoh.

Coinciding with the recent opening of its mall-concept showroom in IOI City Mall Putrajaya, this new outlet in Ipoh marks the 14th retail location for the Chinese automaker in Malaysia. BYD also supposedly has plans for 6 more showrooms to be opened soon, in Butterworth, Kayu Ara, Kuantan, Melaka, Batu Pahat, and Kota Kinabalu.

Currently, BYD has two fully-electric models on offer in Malaysia: the Atto 3 compact crossover and the Dolphin hatchback. The former currently retails from RM 149,800, while the latter’s price begins from RM 99,900.
