Some will say it is the wrong time to be launching a luxury Sports SUV, but please note that BMW Malaysia probably planned on this launch some eight to 12 months ago when BMW AG was planning on a global release. Still, in every car market, including Malaysia, there will be people still making money and some others with too much money sitting in their bank and they need to buy a new vehicle.
The third generation of the pioneering Sports Activity Coupé the All-New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport dons a confident and muscular personality that is underscored by its meticulous design language, while state-of-the-art engine and chassis technology ensure a uniquely sporty yet comfortable driving experience. Consistent technological advances are also evident in the comprehensive range of innovative infotainment and assistance systems, set in a luxurious ambience created by sophisticated premium equipment features. The provocative and expressive design language of the All-New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport evokes a dominant presence on the road. Equipped with the M Sport package, the all-new SAC is one that dominates any road it travels on.
Compared to its predecessor, the All-New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport has grown in terms of length (+26mm), width (+15mm) and wheelbase (+42mm). Overall height has been reduced (-6mm), creating dynamic, elongated proportions combined with a particularly powerful personality. A key part of the front design is the large kidney grille with ‘Iconic Glow’ illumination and with both halves framed by a common surround. The characteristic, slim twin BMW Laserlights with high-beam assistant and LED fog lights underscore the vehicle’s width and road presence. Wheel arches are shaped slightly hexagonal.
The all-new SAC also stylishly features the BMW Individual Exterieur Line in Aluminium satinated and roof rails in Aluminium satinated. Moving to the back, full-LED three-dimensional taillights are offered with the familiar BMW L-shape, along with Air Breathers at the rear to emphasise the vehicle’s extrovert appearance. Automatic tailgate operation is also available as standard. The M Sport highlights include the M Sport exhaust system, M Sport brake, Adaptive M Suspension and 21-inch M light alloy wheels in Y-spoke style 741 M Bicolour with mixed and runflat tyres.
The All-New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport’s unbridled power is generated via a formidable three-litre six-cylinder in-line petrol engine that is capable of achieving a limited top speed of 250 km/h. The all-new SAC outputs 250 kw / 340 hp at 5,500-6,500 rpm with a peak torque of 450 Nm at 1,500-5,200 rpm. The all-new SAC can also make the century sprint in just 5.5 seconds, and has a combined fuel consumption of 9.0 l/100km and combined carbon output of 206 g/km.
The engine also benefits from the eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, with power channelled to all four wheels via the BMW xDrive system. Driving dynamics of the All-New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport is offered via a double-wishbone front suspension, five-link rear suspension and Dynamic Damper Control as standard. This means the all-new SAC has the ideal underpinnings for dynamics and ride comfort as well as supreme traction on off-road terrain. The Driving Experience Control system enables drivers to choose between a sporty or comfort-focused set-up.
The interior of the all-new SAC is designed to create an exclusive and dynamic driving experience. The cockpit design with its reconfigured and redesigned controls represents a modern reinterpretation of the classic, driver-focused BMW cockpit. The interior excels with superlative workmanship and premium materials, such as Vernasca leather upholstery included as standard. The M Leather steering wheel is also available as standard, along with sport seats for both the driver and front passenger. Rear passengers can enjoy the moulded single-seats for a sportier touch, roller sunblinds, as well as the automatic air-conditioning with four-zone control.
The two-part panoramic glass roof, that is now 83% larger, lends a more spacious ambience within the all-new SAC, while the rear backrest comes with a 40/20/40-split folding function – providing a luggage capacity that can be increased from 580 to as much as 1,530 litres. The all-new SAC is further furnished with the Harman Kardon 16-Speaker Surround Sound System, ‘CraftedClarity’ glass application for interior elements as well as interior trim finishers in Aluminium Tetragon and BMW Individual headliner anthracite. Ambient lighting can be customised with up to six different selections to set the right driving mood.
The BMW Live Cockpit Professional is available as standard, and combined with the Head-Up Display, BMW Gesture Control and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant takes communication between driver and vehicle to a whole new level, serving as a personal assistant and vehicle expert. The BMW Live Cockpit Professional includes a 12.3-inch Instrument Display, customisable instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen Control Display. The latest-generation infotainment system excels with the BMW Operating System 7.0. Rear passengers will benefit from the Rear-seat Entertainment Professional with two 10-inch touchscreen displays.
Owners of the all-new SAC will also be able to enjoy the BMW Display Key and Wireless Charging, along with the BMW Connected Package Professional with Teleservices, Intelligent Emergency Call and Apple CarPlay for enhanced convenience and comfort on every drive.
The All-New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport also features the latest in driving assistance systems, including the Driving Assistant Professional which comes with the Cross-traffic Warning at the rear and Lane Change Warning. It also includes the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, as well as the Steering and Lane Control Assistant with narrow-passage support.
In addition, the Parking Assistant Plus available as standard includes the Parking Assistant as well as the Reversing Assistant that remembers the last 50 metres of the drive and is able to semi-automatically reverse the car along the same route.
The All-New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport is offered in six eye-catching colours, namely Manhattan, Artic Grey, Riverside Blue, Carbon Black, Mineral White and Flamenco Red.
