DHAS Recognised By Malaysia Book Of Records For Vehicle Tracking System

DRB-HICOM Auto Solutions Sdn. Bhd. (DHAS) has received recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records for the “Largest Implementation of In-Plant Smart Vehicle Tracking System”.

The recognition covers its in-house DHAS Vehicle Tracking System (DVTS), which aims to improve operational efficiency and speed up vehicle deliveries to customers.

DVTS combines Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) technology, GPS-enabled tracking devices, geofencing and centralised digital monitoring. The system provides visibility of vehicle locations and movements across DHAS’ vehicle yards.

It reduces reliance on manual tracking, helps staff identify vehicles faster and improves the accuracy of vehicle movement records. These improvements have also helped speed up vehicle deliveries.

DHAS has deployed DVTS at its Vehicle Processing Centre yards in the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) in Pulau Indah, Selangor, and Pekan, Pahang.

The PKFZ facility covers approximately 33 acres, equivalent to around 80 football fields. DVTS helps staff monitor and coordinate vehicles across designated zones for receiving, storage, processing and delivery.

The system also provides dashboards, reports and analytics to support resource planning, operational decisions and service delivery.

DHAS said the implementation forms part of its ongoing digitalisation efforts to strengthen its automotive logistics operations. The company plans to continue exploring automation and integrated digital solutions to improve efficiency and address changing customer needs.
