Aston Martin Valhalla Spider Debuts With 1,079 PS and 350 km/h Top Speed

Aston Martin has unveiled the Valhalla Spider, an open-top version of its mid-engined plug-in hybrid supercar. The model retains the Valhalla Coupe’s powertrain and performance while adding a removable roof system.
The Valhalla Spider produces 1,079 PS and 1,100 Nm of torque from a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It combines a bespoke 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 828 PS with three electric motors contributing another 251 PS.
Aston Martin claims a top speed of 350 km/h, or 217 mph, with the roof either fitted or removed. The company also lists a predicted 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 2.5 seconds.
The Valhalla Spider is the brand’s first mid-engined open-cockpit production supercar. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.
Removable Roof and Revised Aerodynamics
The Valhalla Spider comes with a removable black fabric roof that can be stored when not in use. With the fabric roof fitted, the car can reach speeds of up to 200 km/h. An optional carbon-fibre hardtop allows roof-on driving at the full 350 km/h top speed.
The United States market receives the carbon-fibre hardtop as standard, while other markets receive the fabric roof as standard. Aston Martin also supplies a rain cover for use when the car is parked.
A dedicated wind deflector helps manage airflow when driving with the roof removed. It directs cooling air towards the engine intake while reducing airflow around the occupants. The engine snorkel has also been redesigned for the Spider and sits 35 mm taller than the Coupe’s.
The wind deflector folds into three sections and fits inside new 15-litre storage compartments in the side sills. Revised active aerodynamics and Electronic Stability Programme calibrations account for both roof-on and roof-off driving.
Aston Martin says the car can generate more than 600 kg of downforce with the roof fitted. Its active aerodynamic system adjusts front and rear downforce to balance grip, stability and drag.
Hybrid Powertrain and Chassis
The 4.0-litre V8 uses a flat-plane crankshaft and produces 207 bhp per litre, which Aston Martin identifies as the highest specific output of any of its combustion engines.
Two electric motors drive the front axle, providing electric torque vectoring to improve agility and stability. A third motor sits within the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and assists the V8 in driving the rear wheels. The front and rear axles have no mechanical connection.
The car uses an electronic rear limited-slip differential and Aston Martin’s Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control system. This system monitors the suspension, brakes, steering, aerodynamics and powertrain to coordinate the car’s behaviour.
Four driving modes are available: Sport, Sport+, Race and EV. The structure uses a carbon-fibre monocoque with aluminium front and rear subframes. It also retains the Coupe’s carbon-fibre dihedral doors, which feature revised mechanisms and frameless glass.
The Spider receives a carbon-fibre Touring Seat as standard. Buyers can instead choose the Coupe’s original carbon-fibre seat at no additional cost.
Global Debut and Deliveries
The Valhalla Spider will make its global debut at the 2026 Concours at Wynn Las Vegas. Its arrival expands Aston Martin’s mid-engined hybrid range with an open-cockpit alternative to the Coupe.
The Spider measures 4,728 mm long, 2,208 mm wide including mirrors and 1,233 mm tall. It has a 2,760 mm wheelbase and a dry weight of 1,680 kg with lightweight options.
Aston Martin has not announced pricing in the supplied information. Customer deliveries are expected to begin in Q3 2027.
