Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia has launched the brand new 2022 Passat R-Line in Malaysia. This model is a direct upgrade to the previous Volkswagen Passat.
Compared to its previous model, this new Passat R-Line has a more powerful engine and premium features. Although pricier, the upgraded 2.0TSI turbocharged engine now produces 220PS and 350Nm of torque.
The engine is paired with a 6-speed wet clutch direct-shift gearbox. Driving experience is further enhanced with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) and Driving Mode Selection that allows the driver to select different modes based on needs.
Inside, the Passat’s interior has more detailed finishing to make it more luxurious. The new premium Harman Kardon 700-watt audio system is featured with 12 speakers throughout the car for a richer sound. It comes with four different modes, Pure, Chill Out, Live and Energy.
Each of the four settings accentuates a different aspect, allowing you to adjust to your needs.
Safety-wise, there are 6 airbags with 2 at the front, 2 at the front side and 2 at the curtain. The vehicle is designed with a Proactive Occupant Protection System that detects emergency maneuvers and prepares passengers for a possible collision.
The side assist indicates locations of vehicles in blind spots to make changing lanes easier and safer. While reversing, the Rear Cross Traffic Alert warns the driver for approaching vehicles when reversing from narrow angles.
Other bonuses in the interior an 9.2-inch touchscreen which has a Discover Pro navigation system. There is also supported wireless App-Connect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to display on the infotainment touchscreen.
The new Passat R-Line is also the second model to receive the new Volkswagen logo, the first being the Arteon. The Passat now comes with five colors which are Aquamarine Blue, Manganese Grey, Scale Silver; with Deep Black and Oryx White being the two pearl-effect colors that are available at no additional cost.
Priced at RM211,916.88, the Passat comes with three years free maintenance, five years unlimited mileage warranty, and five years roadside assistance.
