You Can Now Get A BRAND NEW 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6 From Just RM 128,888

A similarly shocking good deal could also be had on a new 2024 IONIQ 5, which could be yours from RM 135,888!
So a little while ago, there was a story right here on Automacha about how it is possible to get a 1+ year old pre-owned Hyundai IONIQ 5 for nearly half its new price. Well now it appears that there is an even more awesome deal to be had, because Hyundai is currently offloading some brand new but 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5s and IONIQ 6s from just RM 135,888 and RM 128,888 respectively!
In a deal of a lifetime that was first picked up by DSF.my, the headline RM 128,888 price tag applies to the 2024 IONIQ 6 Lite RWD variant, while the bigger battery Plus RWD trim is currently going for RM 148,888. Meanwhile, the IONIQ 5 Lite models are priced at RM 135,888, the IONIQ 5 Plus models at RM 155,888, and the IONIQ 5 Max models at RM 175,888.
As observed in the full list of cars available below too, there are indeed more than a few units of each of these brand-new 2024 cars in stock, with an array of colour options available. And to make this already honey-sweet deal even sweeter, Hyundai is further throwing in a free solar panel and a wallbox charger with every purchase of these new-old-stock EVs.
Just as a reminder of how shocking these discounts are too, the IONIQ 5 was first introduced locally in 2023 with pricing ranging from RM 199,888 to RM 259,888. The IONIQ 6 in turn landed in Malaysia with a price tag of RM 219,888 for the Lite variant and RM 249,888 for the Plus RWD variant. These current reductions therefore translates to savings of over RM 90,000 in some cases, making them among the most attractive EV deals currently available!
It should also go without saying that these massive discounts bring the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 much closer in price to the likes of BYD’s Atto 3 and Seal. And if you ask this writer at least, the South Korean EVs still hold an edge relative to its Chinese counterparts in terms of offering a more premium feel, better build quality, and superior driving dynamics.
So, what’s the catch? Given that these are 2024 models, their registration in 2025 may impact resale value slightly, but considering EVs already experience significant depreciation, this may not be a major deal-breaker. Since these cars are being sold directly by Hyundai too, any concerns about their prolonged storage before being sold should minimal, with any potential issues that arise can be addressed under warranty too.
Speaking of warranties though, prospective buyers should confirm whether the manufacturer warranty starts from the date of registration or from the production date. If it begins at registration, there’s nothing to worry about, but if it starts from the date of manufacture, it’s worth considering when making a decision.
