The 2022 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was just held this Sunday on the 22nd of May. This year’s event saw a total of 445 registered participants with an expected number of 800 attendees at the end. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Kuala Lumpur started back in 2012, and is organized by Throttle Riot this year with Didi Group being the main sponsor. This year’s event saw Gasket Alley, Petaling Jaya as the meeting point.
For those who don’t know about this charity ride, it is the world’s greatest motorcycle charity event where vintage motorcycle owners unite to spread awareness for prostate cancer and men’s health. It was founded in 2012 by Mark Hawwa in Sydney, after being inspired by a photo of men in classic suits and vintage motorcycles.

The 2022 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride on Sunday, May 22nd will look to bring its global community together in over 700 cities and 100 countries in celebration of style, motorcycles, and men’s health. Together with Movember, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is dedicated to bringing communities together to raise awareness of prostate cancer and helping folks around the world make stronger and more meaningful connections.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride unites classic and vintage style motorcycle riders all over the world to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. It is held globally on a same appointed date. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was founded in Sydney, Australia in 2012 by Mark Hawwa. After inspiration from a photograph featuring classic suits and vintage motorcycles, Mark decided a themed ride would be a great way to combat the often-negative stereotype of motorcyclists and connect the global motorcycling community and to raise funds for a cause important to every rider.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Kuala Lumpur started in 2012 and for this year, it is organized by Throttle Riot, a motorcycle enthusiasts’ community, recognized amongst cafe racer, classic bike, and chopper owners, which was founded by Raja Susrina in 2014. Throttle Riot has been the official organizer for The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride in Malaysia since 2015 in Penang, 2016 in Ipoh, 2017 in Johor Bharu, 2018 in Kedah, and 2019 in Kuala Lumpur.
As until now, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Kuala Lumpur has successfully raised RM11,000, and about RM24,000 accumulated with the rest of Malaysia through this fundraising. The number of registered participants are now 445 people and is expected to reach 800 by the time of the event. The main sponsors for The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Kuala Lumpur 2022 are DIDI Group Company, GKL Empire, and DC Zon. Official venues are Lalaport Bukit Bintang City Centre, as the first meeting point before partipants will be riding in convoy to The Gasket Alley, Petaling Jaya. This year the event is filled with more activities, opening more selling booths to support local brands, live music and band performances, lucky draw session, and The Best Dressed Award.
