R.W.B = Really Wide Booties
The HKS R35 NEO GT1000+ Concept. You’ll never guess how much horsepower this modded GT-R makes.
The Alphard and Vellfire modifying community seems to be rather big in Malaysia.
An organisation of Odysseys.
How to tart up a Toyota Hiace according to the examples seen at Tokyo Auto Salon KL 2024: a vibrant exterior colour with some flared wheel arches on the outside, Alphard seats within and a whole bunch of speakers round the rear.
Is Midnight Purple the best colour for an R34 GT-R? (Hint: Yes.)
Then again, Millennium Jade is pretty ace too…
BMWs were strangely lacking in this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur, but there was at least this tastefully modified E36 325i representing the Bavarian marque. It is incidentally also being given away at the show too.
This used to be a SW20 Toyota MR2 in a previous more sensible life.
Well, this ‘Teggy has four doors, so it could actually be quite a decent real taxi!
Lifted or lowered, the Mitsubishi Triton can be made to look cool either way.
Yes, that really does appear to be a blower on a Mitsubishi Triton. And let’s not forget about the twin NOS bottles in the bed of this extremely modified pickup too!
Nope, this is not a Wira Lancer, but an actual Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution RS instead. And this thus means that hiding beneath those louvres in the bonnet is all but likely the legendary 2.0-litre 4G63 turbocharged four-cylinder!
This pair of Porsche 930 911s hides some rather tasty surprises round its wide booties.
Here are all three generations of the Mid-ship Run-about 2-seater. C’mon Toyota, there’s always room for another one!
Its makers dub this rather modified Golf GTI Mk7 the Brutal Bunny. Maybe as a nod to the fact that this VW hatchback was initially called the Rabbit in North America(?)
IS THAT A SUPRA? Nope, it is 3 Supras!
A Daihatsu Copen seen from this angle and with these exterior mods does have more than a hint of new Beetle to it, don’t you think?
You know this show is full of wild cars when a gull-winged Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG was barely given it’s time of day by the crowd. Still bloody brilliant to see one in the metal though.
R35 GT-Rs as far as the eye can see.
Excuse this writer here for a bit as he nerds out on seeing a genuine Mazda Cosmo in the metal. This sleekly-styled two seat sports car from the late 60s marks the genesis of Mazda’s dalliance with the rotary engine. And if you’re wondering why the Ultraman theme here, it is because this car was featured in the 1970s TV series The Return of Ultraman.
A very, very fast (and likely very, very loud) bike carrier.
The Tomei RB28 Genesis: Twin-turbocharged Tomei goodness, ripe for slotting into any GT-R.
