This new Chery Extra Peace of Mind Package is offered for its Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro, for an additional RM 11,600.
In perhaps its clearest statement of intent yet that it plans to stay in Malaysia for the long run, Chery has recently gone an introduced its new Extra Peace of Mind Package. Available for both its Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro, this new RM 11,600 optional extra essentially brings with it a 7-year service maintenance plan on top the rather generous aftersales coverage it already offers.
By purchasing the Extra Peace of Mind Package, Chery touts for its customers can rest assured that they won’t be affected by the increasing prices of spare parts and maintenance costs over time. In fact, the Chinese automaker has put a figure of RM 2,750 on the savings its customers will make on servicing costs across seven years when opting for this package.
Chery further claims that customers can be confident when they bring their vehicles to any authorised service centre nationwide, as only genuine Chery parts are used. This commitment by the automaker is touted to not only ensures top-quality service, but also enhances the resale value of the vehicles in the future.
Now delving further into the details regarding this plan, Chery Malaysia claims for this comprehensive Extra Peace of Mind Package to cover the replacement of scheduled maintenance items such as engine oil, engine oil filter and washer, radiator coolant, brake fluid, air filter, spark plug, and transmission oil for the first 7 years of the vehicle’s life. Interestingly enough however, there is no mention in the marketing bumph of this plan for labour costs being covered with it…
That said, what has been thrown in by Chery Malaysia as well with this Extra Peace of Mind Package is the 10-year engine warranty or coverage of up to 1 million km. This is to be an upgrade over the standard 7-year/150,000 km engine warranty, and could incidentally still be bought standalone as part of the Extended Warranty Package for RM 2,000.
