SOCAR Malaysia appoints Shylendra Nathan as new CEO

SOCAR, Malaysia’s No.1 car-rental service has just appointed a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Shylendra Nathan. Starting from 1st August 2022, Shylendra will be overseeing all the operations of SOCAR and TREVO, another car-sharing platform launched by SOCAR in Malaysia. He will be reporting to SOCAR Mobility Malaysia’s Board of Directors which is led by Chairman Choi Myoung Hwa (Max).

With his strong background in technology and expertise in product development, we foresee that he will lead the current team towards greater heights in
developing services and features that will further enhance consumer affinity to SOCAR and TREVO and elevate customer satisfaction,” Max commented.

SOCAR Mobility Malaysia has appointed Shylendra Nathan as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective 1 August 2022. As the CEO, he will oversee the overall operations of the group which includes SOCAR as well as TREVO, and will report to SOCAR Mobility Malaysia’s Board of Directors led by Chairman Choi Myoung Hwa (Max).

Shylendra has 24 years of experience in the Internet and Communications Technology field, with 15 years dedicated to building internet marketplaces in Southeast Asia and South Asia. Most recently, he was the General Manager for Malaysia at REA Group operating iProperty.com Malaysia Sdn Bhd which was acquired by PropertyGuru Group. He was also Chief Operating Officer at 701Search and CEO of Onekyat in Myanmar. His other previous roles include: Head of Agency Relations, and then Industry Head of Technology, Telco and Government at Google. He is also noted for building the largest online marketplace in Malaysia as General Manager of Mudah.my.

Shylendra holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde and an undergraduate degree in Information Technology majoring in Software Engineering from the Southern Cross University.
