PROTON S70 LITE AND PRIME VARIANTS LAUNCHED FROM RM56,800

PROTON today launched the 2026 PROTON S70 Lite and Prime variants, priced from RM56,800. The new variants expand the S70 family with 10 class-leading features and a naturally aspirated powertrain, bringing its space, comfort, connectivity and safety to more Malaysians.

All customers who book and register their 2026 PROTON S70 Lite or Prime by 31 December 2026 are eligible for a RM3,000 early bird reward.

The introduction of the Lite and Prime builds on the strong sales performance of the PROTON S70, which has recorded average monthly sales of more than 2,500 units in 2026. Since order books opened on 7 September 2026, the two new variants have received more than 10,000 bookings in just two weeks, reflecting encouraging demand for the expanded S70 range.

10 CLASS-LEADING FEATURES FOR EVERYDAY DRIVING

The new variants bring together 10 class-leading features which offers class-leading cabin space and rear passenger shoulder room, supported by a wide body and generous wheelbase. A near-flat rear floor allows three passengers to sit more comfortably side by side.

A soft-touch instrument panel and thoughtful interior detailing create a refined cabin, while practical storage supports everyday usability.

Connectivity and convenience features include wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® – available from October 2026, an Electric Parking Brake with Auto Brake Hold, Auto Up/Down with Anti-Trap for all windows, remote engine start and five USB ports, with equipment varying by variant.

Safety is supported by six airbags and front and rear parking sensors, complemented by the Rear Side Radar System which consists of Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Door Opening Warning and Rear Collision Warning, with equipment varying by variant. Both variants come standard with a Reverse Camera and Rear Seat Reminder.

ENGINEERED FOR A SMOOTHER DRIVE

Both variants are powered by a naturally aspirated i-GT 1.5-litre engine paired with a CVT with a torque converter, delivering a smooth and comfortable drive. The engine’s characteristics support good NVH performance, creating a calm and comfortable cabin environment. The smooth and relaxed driving experience is well suited to urban journeys, family use and longer drives.

The variants retain PROTON Ride & Handling and three selectable drive modes, allowing drivers to adapt to different driving conditions and preferences. They complement the existing S70 range, with equipment differentiated by variant to suit different customer needs.

• Standard Package: Every purchase of the 2026 PROTON S70 i-GT 1.5 includes Pro-Warranty, with a 5-year unlimited-mileage warranty and six services with free labour.

• Financing and trade-in support: Pro-Finance is available to eligible customers, offering financing of up to 9 years at interest rates from 2.35% per annum, subject to financing approval and applicable terms. Pro-Trade-In, providing overtrade support of up to RM2,000 for customers trading in their existing vehicles, alongside other offers.

• Optional insurance protection: Pro-Shield, the PROTON Insurance Programme, offers upgraded protection including Special Perils coverage, windscreen coverage, enhanced flood relief coverage of up to RM2,000, and passenger personal accident coverage of up to RM15,000 per person for up to four passengers. Existing benefits include a waiver of betterment cost up to 10 years old, agreed-value protection, all-driver coverage, key replacement, personal accident coverage for the policyholder and 24-hour roadside assistance.
