Mazda MX-30, brand’s first electric vehicle now opens for booking
Bermaz Auto, the sole distributor of Mazda in Malaysia, have finally revealed the Mazda MX-30. It is the first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) developed by the brand. The MX-30 is the latest addition to Mazda’s third-generation lineup which already consists of the Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30. The MX-30 was also the winner of the “2020 Red Dot Design”.
The interior of the Mazda MX-30 is made of high-quality ecofriendly materials and modern technology. The 8.8-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system on the floating central console and the door grips are made of cork, a highly renewable material. The insides feature fabric and leatherette seating equipped with 8-way power, 2-way lumbar adjustments and 2-position memory function.
The Mazda MX-30 also has 360 degrees view monitor for an all-round view of the vehicle while parking. The a 12-speaker Bose sound system and Mazda Harmonic Acoustics audio system provide an enjoyable audio experience.
In terms of powertrain, the Mazda MX-30 is using Mazda’s new electric-drive technology, e-SKYACTIV. The front wheel drive is good for a maximum output of 143hp and 271Nm of torque.
This is paired with a 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with 199km of maximum range. The battery pack also has a cooling system to maintain a cool temperature for the battery. Using DC fast charging port of 40kW, it takes the battery 36 minutes for 80% of charge.
A new feature found in this Mazda is the G-Vectoring Control (GVC). It uses the powertrain to improve chassis performance, has evolved into e-GVC Plus, which leverages the torque characteristics of the electric motor to optimize the front-rear load shift under an even wider range of usage scenarios.
The Mazda MX-30 is equipped with the latest i-Activsense safety technologies. They include Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Driver Attention Alert (DAA) with Driver Monitoring, Lane-keep Assist System (LAS). Features like Adaptive LED Headlights (ALH), Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), as well as Cruising and Traffic Support (CTS) are only available for the High variant.
The Mazda MX-30 is available from RM198,780.00 onwards. It is completely built up (CBU) from Japan. The vehicle is available for pre-order at the Mazda Glenmarie Flagship showroom. As usual, it comes with a 5 years manufacturer warranty (or first 100,000km), whichever comes first, as well as battery warranty coverage for up to 8 years or 160,000km, whichever comes first.
Colours include Polymetal Gray and Machine Gray for the Single color and as for the 2-Tone color includes Jet Black Mica (with silver roof pillar), Zircon Sand (with black roof) and Soul Red Crystal (with black roof).
