Lim Tayar Family Licensing Programme Launched Locally

Franchising isn’t just for fast food anymore as Lim Tayar enters the licensing business too.

When thinking of franchises in the auto world, it is typically associated with new car dealerships. Well now however, there will soon be another type of franchise venture that enterprising business owners can look into, as the CKL Group has recently launched the Lim Tayar Family (LTF) licensing programme for the aftermarket industry locally.

A licensing deal specifically catered to tyre retailers and car workshop owners, this new LTF programme is touted to offer assistance and a better option than the legacy dealership model. A model which has had its problems brought to light by the recent and ongoing pandemic.

The LTF programme has also apparently been curated to better cater to those wishing to ‘upgrade their business under the umbrella of a trusted and reputable vehicle servicing chain store’, said Mr Clement Lim, Joint Managing Director of CKL Group.

“Lim Tayar is one of the largest one-stop car service chains in Malaysia. Together with our sister company School of Skills, which offers technical vocational training, we are confident we will be able to help our partners to build up the skills of their current workforce and also to mitigate the skilled manpower shortage faced by the industry,” he added.

Delving further into the details of this licensing programme, the LTF deal will bring with it the strong brand name of Lim Tayar that has more than 35 years of experience within the retail and vehicle servicing industry. Other benefits that participating licensees will receive include marketing and inventory support like tyres, engine oil, spare parts, batteries, in addition to a comprehensive business operations solution, that brings with it a point-of-sale system, a fixed price list and a ready-to-move in business premise located at a strategic location.

Unlike that of a traditional franchise agreement however, partner workshops within the LTF programme will be granted the flexibility to offer additional services in other areas outside expertise apart from what Lim Tayar currently has to offer. For the more fiscally conscious business owners too, there will be a flexible financing plan on offer for the programme, which will also include an instalment plan for the licensing fee.

There are currently 19 Lim Tayar outlets in total nationwide, 18 within the Klang Valley and 1 in Seremban. Expect to see more of these facilities popping up nationwide however in the near future with this newly launched LTF licensing programme.
