Lexus RX 500h F SPORT 2023 Model Priced At RM498,888
This RX 500h comes with sports car like performance with 460Nm
This latest Lexus RX model was first shown in Malaysia in May this year and was priced at RM468,888 and now comes the hybrid version, the RX 500h F Sport which has battery assisted power.
Meanwhile, we wonder when will the all electric version RZ 450e will be launched in Malaysia to take advantage of the duty free status for electric vehicles which ends officially in December 2024.
Why? Well, this RX 500h has a hybrid powertrain which means there is a still import duties on it and this is why its selling price is not competitive with its full electric rivals from Europe.
This new variant builds upon Lexus’ long-standing experience in the development of hybrid electric technology.
This 2023 Lexus RX 500h F SPORT boasts a new hybrid electric system consisting of a high- torque 2.4-litre turbo petrol fed engine paired with an electric motor.
This vehicle also boasts an eAxle rear unit integrated with a high output electric motor, inverter and reduction gearbox.
This advanced drive train is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, delivering a total output of 202 kW of power and 460 Nm of torque. Power delivery to each wheel is controlled by DIRECT4, an exclusive new Lexus drive force technology.
This impressive new Lexus technology provides intelligent all-wheel drive performance by combining electric and inverter power to constantly balance torque delivery between front and rear axles with more speed and accuracy than what mechanical systems can deliver.
The system also prioritises electric power over the combustion engine even when the car is driven spiritedly, keeping performance smooth, refined and dynamic.
To further provide the new RX 500h F SPORT with its dynamic and sporty feel, the new suspension design features a Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) system where the rear wheels steer up to 4° either way depending on the speed of the vehicle.
At higher speeds, the rears adjust in phase with the front wheels to offer stability and confidence while at slower speeds, they oppose the direction to make turning into corners and tight spaces more effortless for greater driving pleasure.
Stunning at every angle, the RX 500h F SPORT features an expressive reinterpretation of the signature spindle grille flanked by a pair of exquisite, jewel-like headlamps.
It not only elegantly blends into the design of the body but also accentuates its profile, evoking a silhouette of power and grace. The all- new Lexus badging and distinctive LED Blade Tail-lamp fortifies this luxury SUVs indelible expression.
The new RX 500h F SPORT uses 21-inch light alloy rims finished in matte black and come with exclusive 235/50R21 tyres. These offer a level of high-quality ride comfort, quietness as well as enhanced grip worthy of the Lexus brand.
The 2023 Lexus RX 500h F SPORT rides on the GA-K (Global Architecture – K) platform, which offers improved rigidity for enhanced comfort, reassuring responsiveness and agility. Lexus engineers have also reduced the overall weight of the car using innovative assembly methods and utilising aluminium for the front wings, significantly improving the vehicle’s front/rear weight distribution with no compromise on safety.
One of the key benefits of the GA-K platform is that it provides an extended wheelbase along with wider tracks, which has allowed designers to package the cabin space as a true SUV.
Featuring an interior designed around both the Tazuna and Omotenashi (Japanese hospitality) concept, the 2023 Lexus RX 500h F SPORT features a luxurious cabin that provides driver and passenger a direct and emotional connection to the vehicle with all controls within easy reach.
The Lexus RX 500h F SPORT boasts subtle design features and tweaks that sets it apart from the all- new RX model range. This includes seats made with Ultrasuede, exclusive seat upholstery made from plant-derived raw materials.
Sustainable and luxurious, Ultrasuede also offers excellent tactile feel as well as high durability for added benefit and comfort. The vehicle also sports Dark Spin Aluminium ornamentation, which utilises an exquisite spin finish that provides a sharp shading of metal that emphasizes the lateral expansiveness and dynamism of the instrument panel.
For that immersive audio experience, the new RX 500h F SPORT is endowed with a Mark Levinson surround sound system that churns out audiophile-quality sounds through its 21-speaker and subwoofer system.
In terms of safety, the RX 500h F SPORT arrives with Lexus Safety System+, which features a suite of safety and pre-collision systems designed to alert drivers and activate preventive measures to avoid accidents in daily driving situations.
The new RX 500h F SPORT is also fitted with the e-Latch electronic door release system, an electronic system that replaces the internal door handle with a push-button switch positioned next to the armrest in the door panel for smooth and easy access and exit from the vehicle.
Employing the 12 ultrasonic sensors and four cameras, the new RX 500h F SPORT’s Lexus Teammate Advanced Park system makes parking a cinch. Not only does it warn of near objects, it assists through automatic control of steering, shift operation and braking to take the stress away from parking in narrow spaces.
For the Malaysian market, Lexus Malaysia is offering the RX 500h F SPORT in a choice of four colours, which are White Nova Glass, Sonic Iridium, Graphite Black Glass Flake and Sonic Copper.
