Isuzu D-Max Low-Ride 4×2 MT Now Open For Bookings Locally

This new variant of Isuzu D-Max is incidentally the only new 4×2 double-cab pickup currently on offer in Malaysia.

Isuzu Malaysia has recently announced the imminent arrival of a new base variant of its facelifted D-Max. Dubbed the Low-Ride 4×2 MT, this particular spec of pickup comes exclusively in double-cab rear-wheel drive guise, and will incidentally be the only one of its kind currently sold new over here, when it lands locally in February.

Touted to be a dependable yet versatile workhorse that is aimed at urban and sub-urban businesses, among the practicality highlights with this particular spec of D-Max includes for it to feature a load deck positioned just 78 cm above the ground, facilitating easy loading and unloading. Its double-cab cabin meanwhile further accommodates five passengers, making it suitable for businesses requiring the transport of personnel and equipment.

Despite being among the most affordable pick-up truck in the market too, the new Isuzu D-Max Low-Ride 4×2 MT variant is not to be exactly skint on standard kit. Found within its cabin are fabric seats, a single-DIN Bluetooth-ready entertainment system, tilt and telescopic adjustment for the steering column, central locking and electronically-adjustable door mirrors.

This 5-star ASEAN NCAP-rated D-Max Low-Ride 4×2 MT also comes endowed with a host of safety features including Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC). Two airbags come as standard too, as is a Brake Override System (BOS), Emergency Stop Signals, Follow-Me Home lights and reverse sensors.

Sharing similar specifications as the D-Max 1.9-litre Single Cab, the new Low-Ride 4×2 MT will be available exclusively with a 1.9-litre RZ4E-TC turbodiesel and a six-speed manual gearbox. Power and torque figures for this boosted oil-burner are currently rated at 150 PS and 350 Nm respectively, but perhaps more impressively is that this powertrain pairing has recently demonstrated it can achieve a 2,000 km driving distance on its 76-litre tank.

The Isuzu D-Max Low-Ride 4×2 MT will available exclusively in Splash White and can currently be booked at authorised Isuzu dealers nationwide, with deliveries expected to begin next month. Pricing starts at RM 92,199.20 in Peninsular Malaysia, RM 94,279.60 in Sabah, and RM 94,170.30 in Sarawak. It comes with a 5-year or 150,000 km warranty, offering peace of mind to owners.

“As a world leader in the manufacture of commercial vehicles, Isuzu continues to offer vehicles that bring good value and low running costs to its owners. The new Isuzu D-Max Low-Ride is no exception. Its uncomplicated yet robust design, versatile configuration and efficient powertrain ensure that customers will enjoy one of the lowest ownership costs of any pick-up truck in the market,” said Chief Executive Officer of Isuzu Malaysia Mr Shunsuke Okazoe.
