Proton S70 Leaked Specs: 4 Trim Levels, 7 Different Colours

It seems that the only big thing that is still a secret with this upcoming Proton S70 is its price.

While an official launch of the S70 still eludes us, it would nevertheless seem for Proton to really have not much to reveal during that eventuality. Such is because apart from the recent official announcement for its start of production in Tanjung Malim, the specs for this upcoming Geely rebadged sedan has also recently found its way online too.

Now looking at the leaked document, it would appear for the new S70 to continue Proton’s typical retail style of offering four variants at launch. The lowest of which is dubbed the Executive, that is then followed by the Premium and Flagship, before topping out with the Flagship X trim level.

Given also that all said variants begin with the 1.5T designation, this leaked spec sheet has incidentally confirmed for this new sedan to net a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and 7-speed dual clutch transmission across the board. And while not explicitly confirmed by Proton too, it is in all likelihood to be the same 150 PS and 226 Nm three-pot mill that is shared with lower variants of its X50 sibling, instead of the higher output TGDI power plant found in both the highest-spec compact crossover and its larger X70 counterpart.

Anyhow, base specifications for the S70 in its Executive spec brings with it 6 SRS airbags, Lane Change Assist, an electric parking brake, 16-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats and an 8.0-inch infotainment head unit. Moving up the trim level tree meanwhile to the Premium variant adds on LED headlamps, rear taillight bar, leatherette seats, automatic air conditioning and a reverse camera.

Stepping further up to the S70 Flagship on the other hand adds on the full Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a powered drivers seat, wireless charger and a 360-degree camera with 3D display. Its wheels also gain an inch in diameter and the infotainment system has been bumped up to a larger 12.3-inch unit. Finally, the Flagship X adds a sunroof.

As for the colour options with the S70, the leaked document reveals for Proton to offer a total of 7 hues: Snow White, Armour Silver, Space Grey, Passion Red, Marine Blue, Teal Bayou Green and Quartz Black. The green apparently is brand new for this particular model, while the inclusion of black in its standard lineup breaks with the Malaysian automaker’s tradition of saving that colour for government officials and special editions.

With these specs having been widely publicised already, the only big question remaining now regarding the S70 will be its price. Though if it all this kit in this sedan comes in at the DSF-predicted price of between RM 68,800 to RM79,800 for variants, there will likely be no doubt for this Geely rebadge to be a rather common sight on Malaysian roads soon.
