Scania Recognises CANST For Reduced CO2 Emissions

CANST gets special recognition by Scania as top three transport companies with the most CO2 emissions reduction achieved.
A special recognition was accorded to Circular Agency and North-South Transport (CANST) for being the third best transport company with marked improvement in reducing CO2 emissions via the Scania Ecolution partnership agreement.
This success has led CANST to further commit purchasing 10 new units of Scania G410A6x2NZ (4 units) and Scania G360A4x2NA (6 units) with Repair & Maintenance Contracts, all of which would be included in the Scania Ecolution partnership as well.
CANST’s success and commitment to reduce more carbon footprint was officialised in a recent event graced by Heba El Tarifi, Managing Director, Scania Southeast Asia and Dato’ Lee Hau Hian, Managing Director of Batu Kawan Berhad at CANST’s premises.
The CANST companies are subsidiaries of the Batu Kawan Berhad Group.

’A Good Driver’ is a competition that aims to find the best driver with the best improvement in CO2 emissions reduction. For this competition, Scania decided to create a special recognition for the top three companies in CO2 emissions reduction.
All of these are part of Scania’s commitment towards minimising emissions from its products and its own operations. These include cutting CO2 emissions by 20 percent from its customers’ land transport per transported tonne by 2025 (using 2015 as a baseline), and 50 percent from its own operations.
As an Ecolution partner with Scania, the good company and the good driver are part of the journey towards achieving Scania’s Science Based Target of reducing CO2 emissions in line with the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi).
The R&M contract subscription will give CANST worry-free operation through predictable costs. CANST will then be able to focus on its business with planned downtime, giving maximum uptime due to precise scheduling for repairs and maintenance, thereby eliminating disruptions for a worry-free daily operation.
CANST have over 40 years of experience in providing hazardous chemical logistics solutions in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
As transporters of hazardous chemicals, they are acutely aware of HSE importance for all product deliveries. All their vehicles are in strict compliance with local safety regulations and are equipped with tracking systems.
In addition, their drivers are highly trained, knowledgeable, and experienced in handling chemicals to ensure reliable and safe deliveries to each of their valued customers.
“Scania would like to congratulate CANST for their carbon reduction efforts. By expanding the Scania Ecolution partnership and Repair & Maintenance Contracts to this latest delivery shows the true commitment of CANST in caring for the environment and operational excellence.
I am positive that CANST’s operational practices will encourage others to follow suit,” said Heba.
