BYD And Sime Darby Motors Signs A Distribution Agreement
Sime Darby Motors and BYD will start selling the Atto 3 and e6 electric vehicles very soon.
A few months ago we shared news that Sime Darby Motors (SDM) Malaysia was in discussions with China’s number EV manufacturer, BYD to start selling their popular right hand drive electric vehicles in Malaysia.
Now, good news arrives that just today both Sime Darby Motors and BYD have inked a Distribution Agreement.
This will mark the entry of BYD’s electric vehicles (EV) for the Malaysian passenger car market, with SDM as the distributor.
SDM Malaysia and BYD management formalised the partnership at a signing ceremony between Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director of Retail and Distribution of Sime Darby Motors Malaysia, and Eagle Zhao, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia Sdn Bhd and PT. BYD MOTOR INDONESIA.
Held at Sime Darby Motors City in Ara Damansara, the ceremony was witnessed by Andrew Basham, Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors, and Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division.
The agreement will entail SDM distributing BYD’s ATTO 3 and new e6 models.
