Honda announces revival of CB400 and CBR400R

The CB400 and CBR400R e-clutch concept may be reality sooner than we think

Honda announced at the 42nd osaka motorcycle show 2026 a resurrected cb400 super four e-clutch concept is being under development. the model inherits the lineage of the original 1992 CB400 SUPER FOUR, adopting a highly adaptable Japanese naked style.

The CB400 SUPER FOUR E‑Clutch Concept has been developed to be a versatile, enjoyable standard naked sport motorcycle for all riding situations, the model inherits the lineage of the original 1992 CB400 SUPER FOUR, adopting a highly adaptable Japanese naked style. This approach evolves the long‑established CB product brand into its next chapter. 

The CBR400R FOUR E-Clutch, designed to deliver even greater fulfillment in moments when riders focus solely on the joy of riding, the full-cowl model features sharp, solid surfaces reminiscent of machined metal. Combined with its futuristic lighting design, the motorcycle conveys the advanced performance expected of a next-generation machine.

Both models are built on a new platform comprising an all‑new chassis and suspension engineered to maximize fun‑to‑ride characteristics. They are powered by a newly developed inline‑four engine and incorporate advanced electronic control technologies, including Honda E‑Clutch, which enables automated clutch control, and Throttle‑by‑Wire, which contributes to direct and responsive throttle feel. These features work together to elevate the overall riding experience.
