Anamika Talwar Appointed Mercedes Services Malaysia MD

Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia has a new managing director.

Anamika Talwar has recently been appointed Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MBSM). Beginning from the 1st of November 2020, Anamika will be taking the place of the outgoing MD Mike Ponnaz, who has since taken on the position of the MD at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Hong Kong.

An engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and an MBA holder from Carnegie Melon University, Anamika also has over two decades of experience in establishing new businesses, managing country operations as well as driving growth and innovation.

Her prior work experience includes the several major roles within the Mercedes Benz corporate world, most notably the regional Head of Strategy, Insurance and Business Development for the Americas region, not to mention the regional Head of Sales & Marketing, as well as Digital Transformation for the Africa and Asia Pacific region.

Prior to joining Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia too, Anamika was the Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Singapore for three years. It was during her time there that she was awarded “Digital Leader of the Year” Women in IT Awards Asia in 2019, thanks mainly in part to her efforts in spearheading the introduction of paperless digital lending. This innovation in turn transformed the customer transaction process, which has lead Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Singapore to receive several awards, including the “Best Luxury Car Financing Specialist”.

Established in 2012, Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary of the Daimler Financial Services Group and the in-house financial arm of Mercedes Benz Malaysia. With a new MD at the helm, Anamika has pledged to continue the strong business momentum set by the former managing director, and continue to offer ‘an evolving suite of value added financing and insurance options’ to best cater to the needs and demands of future Mercedes Benz customers.
