BYD Da Han EV Set For Launch With Up To 1,008 km Range

BYD is preparing to launch the Da Han EV in China on 14 October 2026, with the new flagship sedan offering up to 1,008 km of range, ultra-fast charging and a range of premium features.
The Da Han EV will be available in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. The rear-wheel-drive version offers a claimed range of up to 1,008 km under the CLTC testing cycle, while the AWD variant delivers up to 880 km. These figures are based on China’s CLTC standard, which is generally more optimistic than real-world driving conditions.
Performance figures are also notable, with the range-topping AWD version producing up to 570 kW. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 270 km/h.
One of the sedan’s main highlights is its charging capability. Using BYD’s flash-charging technology, the battery can charge from 10% to 97% in approximately nine minutes, provided a compatible high-power charging station is available.
The Da Han EV measures 5,256 mm long, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm, placing it among the larger sedans in BYD’s lineup. Its aerodynamic design achieves a drag coefficient of 0.197, while the rear-wheel-drive version has a reported energy consumption figure of 11.5 kWh per 100 km.
Comfort features include air suspension with road preview technology, rear-wheel steering and Nappa leather zero-gravity front seats. These features are intended to improve ride comfort and manoeuvrability despite the car’s large dimensions.
Inside, the sedan features a 17.3-inch 3K infotainment display and a 31-speaker Devialet sound system. It also comes with BYD’s God’s Eye 5.0 driver-assistance system, adding a range of technology designed to assist drivers.
The Da Han EV is positioned as a flagship model, combining long driving range, rapid charging and premium equipment in a large electric sedan. Its claimed range and charging speed are among its key selling points, although actual performance will depend on driving conditions and access to compatible charging infrastructure.
With its China launch scheduled for October, the Da Han EV will further expand BYD’s electric vehicle lineup at the premium end of the market.
