Jaguar Unveils Type 01, Their Newest Luxury EV

Jaguar has officially unveiled the production version of the Type 01, an all-electric four-seat luxury GT that marks the beginning of what the company describes as a new era for the brand.
With a starting price of USD130,000, the Type 01 packs 1,015 HP and is capable of accelerating from 0–60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. It has a top speed of 150 mph and a claimed EPA range of 400 miles, or around 644 km.
Power comes from a 118 kWh battery and an 850V electrical architecture, with the Type 01 supporting DC fast charging at up to 350 kW. Jaguar says the car can add 200 miles of range in just 13 minutes under suitable charging conditions.

Despite being an electric GT, the Type 01 is not a lightweight car, with a curb weight of more than 5,500 lbs, or around 2,495 kg. Jaguar has nevertheless equipped it with rear-wheel steering capable of up to 6.5 degrees. The system gives the Type 01 a turning circle comparable to a BMW 3 Series.
The Type 01 also features a long front hood and 23-inch wheels, while its aerodynamic shape has a drag coefficient of 0.23Cd.
Inside, Jaguar is offering the Type 01 exclusively as a four-seater. One of its more distinctive features is a floating centre console that runs from the front of the cabin all the way to the rear. Jaguar refers to this central structure as the “spine”, and there will be no alternative interior layout offered.
The combination of its high output, large battery and fast charging capability positions the Type 01 as Jaguar’s most powerful road car yet. Jaguar has also described the model as an important step towards the future direction of the company.

The Type 01 name was previously revealed in Monaco, where Jaguar presented the car as a new-generation four-door GT. The company describes the “0” in the name as representing zero tailpipe emissions, while the “1” represents the first model in a new generation of Jaguar vehicles.
Orders for the Type 01 are scheduled to open in early 2027, with first deliveries expected in the second half of the year.
Jaguar has not yet announced Malaysian pricing or availability. As the vehicle is still subject to market-specific specifications, final figures may vary by region.
