Luxeed RX Gets New 81 kWh Battery Variant

Harmony Intelligent Mobility has introduced a new 81 kWh battery variant for the Luxeed RX coupe SUV, with reservations now open in China.

The new version has a starting pre-sale price of RMB269,800. A variant equipped with the co-optical-path in-cabin LiDAR is also priced from RMB269,800, while the version featuring an L3-grade autonomous driving architecture starts at RMB329,800.

The introduction gives the Luxeed RX a lower entry price compared with its previous starting pre-sale price of RMB299,800.

The RX is positioned as a coupe SUV and is built on Huawei’s Tuling platform. It is available with either a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup or a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.

The RWD version produces 277 kW, while the AWD model has a combined output of 437 kW. The RX is also built around Huawei’s Tuling 800V high-voltage platform.

Battery options include the newly introduced 81 kWh LFP battery and a larger 100 kWh ternary lithium battery. Depending on the configuration, the RX can achieve a maximum CLTC range of up to 852 km.

At the top end of the range, the RX can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.

The model measures 5,020 mm long, 2,007 mm wide and 1,585 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.

The Luxeed RX also features Huawei’s next-generation Zhiqing high-performance electric drive system and a comprehensive sensor setup. Its 38 fused perception sensors include an 896-line dual-optical-path imaging-grade LiDAR, three high-precision solid-state LiDAR units and binocular rearview mirrors.

The SUV also comes with intelligent wrap-around seats, adding to its technology-focused cabin.

Huawei Executive Director, Chairman of the Product Investment Review Committee and Chairman of the Terminal BG Yu Chengdong previously announced at the Xiangjie G9 and Harmony Intelligent Mobility new product launch event on 20 August that the Luxeed RX was designed with an L3-grade autonomous driving architecture.

With the addition of the 81 kWh variant, the Luxeed RX now has a lower starting pre-sale price while retaining its 800V platform, multiple powertrain options and Huawei-developed technology.
