Honda Malaysia Highlights Real-World Benefits Of e:HEV Hybrid Technology

Honda Malaysia is marking Malaysia Day by highlighting the experiences of three Honda e:HEV owners, showcasing how its hybrid technology fits into different aspects of everyday driving.

From reducing fuel expenses and improving long-distance comfort to providing responsive performance and greater practicality for families, the three owners demonstrate how Honda’s hybrid models can offer efficiency without requiring drivers to change the way they use their cars.

The customer stories cover the City e:HEV, Civic e:HEV RS and CR-V e:HEV RS, with each owner highlighting different aspects of hybrid ownership.

City e:HEV Focuses On Fuel Savings And Peace Of Mind

For Ms. Shangkari Kumaran, the City e:HEV has helped reduce her monthly fuel expenses while making longer journeys more comfortable.

With her previous Honda City, she spent more than RM200 a month on fuel. Since switching to the hybrid model, her monthly fuel spending has dropped to around RM150 or slightly more.

She also highlights the City’s quiet operation, comfort and stability during longer trips. After two years of ownership without major issues, reliability has become another important part of her experience.

Honda CONNECT has also added convenience to her ownership experience. Having previously used a separate GPS device, Shangkari can now check her vehicle’s location through the connected-car system.

Civic e:HEV RS Combines Range And Performance

For Mr. Mohamad Sabri Bin Hassan, the Civic e:HEV RS is focused on getting more distance from every tank while retaining the performance expected from a Civic.

Based on his personal driving experience, the Civic e:HEV RS can cover more than twice the distance on a full tank compared with his previous vehicle, with typical range between around 720km and 800km.

A trip to Kelantan further demonstrated the car’s efficiency, with Sabri arriving at his destination while still having fuel remaining.

The Civic e:HEV RS also provides responsive acceleration and quiet operation. Its hybrid powertrain gives it a different response compared with a conventional CVT-equipped vehicle, particularly during city driving.

Sabri also appreciates the digital meter display and Honda SENSING driver-assistance technologies. These features provide additional support during highway journeys, while the responsive hybrid powertrain allows him to enjoy a more engaging drive without giving up fuel efficiency.

CR-V e:HEV RS Adds Space For Family Life

For Mr. Lionel Soon Pow Yik, the CR-V e:HEV RS combines fuel efficiency with the space and versatility needed for family use.

The spacious cabin gives his daughter enough room to bring friends along, while also providing additional flexibility for carrying belongings during family outings.

Fuel economy has become increasingly important to Lionel amid rising fuel costs, while the CR-V’s available torque and acceleration give him the performance needed for overtaking.

One memorable experience came from a friendly mileage challenge with his wife, with both trying to achieve the greatest distance from the CR-V e:HEV RS. What started as a competition also became a way for the family to explore the vehicle’s efficiency.

The digital meter and BOSE sound system are additional features Lionel enjoys during everyday use.
