Does the company’s newest endeavour, the Trumpchi, bear fruit

GAC Trumpchi officially launched the presale of its new boxy SUV, the Yue 7, on the evening of September 2. The model is offered in four variants: 2WD Pro, 2WD Max, AWD Max, and AWD Ultra.
Its presale price ranges from RMB 179,800 (RM108,000) to RMB 225,800 (RM136,000), with presale privilege pricing between RMB 171,800 (RM 103,000) and RMB 217,800 (RM131,000). As GAC Trumpchi’s first rugged off-road SUV, the Yue 7 features a distinctive “boxy” design, measuring 4,999 mm (5,045 mm with optional equipment) in length, 2,004 mm (2,030 mm with optional equipment) in width, and 1,933 mm (1,916 mm with optional equipment) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.

It boasts an approach angle of 30° and a departure angle of 33°; high end air suspension variants achieve an approach angle of 33° and a departure angle of 35°, with adjustable ground clearance ranging from 180 mm to 270 mm. Inside, the cabin is equipped with the ADiGO 7.0 Galaxy Smart Cockpit system, featuring a 1.1-meter wide panoramic “interstellar” display, a 170mm electric sliding rail, and split 40:60 independent rear seats.
It debuts GAC Trumpchi’s first implementation of Qualcomm’s QCM8838 chip. Powering the Yue 7 is GAC’s self-developed “Xingyuan Plug-in Hybrid GMC 3.0 Thunder Edition” system, comprising a 1.5T hybrid engine (maximum output: 125 kW), a drive motor, and a P4 rear electric drive unit. The combined system delivers a peak output of 400 kW and wheel end torque of 10,000 N·m.
The chassis employs an “integrated embedded ladder frame” structure, achieving a torsional rigidity of 38,000 N·m/°. All variants come standard with front and rear mechanical dog-clutch differentials and a central energy lock. The Yue 7 offers three battery options, 28.3 kWh, 38.883 kWh, and 45.975 kWh—delivering CLTC pure-electric ranges of 116 km, 180 km, and 188 km, respectively, and supports the brand’s 9+X intelligent all terrain driving modes.
